Daniel Ricciardo to get his Formula one chance!

According to rumors today Daniel Ricciardo will finally get his chance in Formula one.
If the rumors are true Ricciardo will race for HRT replacing Narain Karthikeyan from the
British Grand Prix onwards to the end of the 2011 season.
Narain Karthikeyan returned to Formula one this season after a hiatus of 6 years previously racing for the Jordan team.
Ricciardo will team up with HRT driver Vitantonio Liuzzi.

I think Red bull are keen to develop Ricciardo for one of the Toro Rosso seats for the 2012 season with Buemi and Alguesuari both under a fair bit of pressure, Buemi now in particular after Alguesuari's gutsy 8th place finish in Valencia.
Thoughts?

it's not much of a surprise narain has been extremely poor but may just be the car so be interesting to see what ricciardo could do with it the way it's going buemi may start looking for seats next season.

Yep Karthikeyan has been slow in the HRT but who can blame him 6 years out and in a team which doesn't know if they are coming or going! HRT is a shamble. However Liuzzi seems to be getting far much out of a bad situation usually creeping up on a Virgin car or just getting in the middle of them during races and occasionally Qualifying.
Daniel Ricciardo has clearly got speed and talent and will be a good start for him with a seasoned driver such as Tonio and can learn some tricks of the trade from him. HRT clearly believe they can catch the Virgins so I think bringing Riciardo in on a what appears to be a loan deal seems to be a good decision but we shall see if Riciardo as you say can do with HRT.
Buemi and Alguesuari need to watch there backs but it will go down to Abu Dhabi another tasty fight!

Its always good to see new talent given a chance, though if he's going to be replacing Karthikeyan at HRT I shouldn't think he'll make too much of an impact.

Narain has been pretty poor, but as someone already mentioned, he's been away twice as long as Michael Schumacher, so he was really on a hiding to nothing there.

If Ricciardo can at least regularly out-qualify Liuzzi, that ought to be enough to get him a seat at Toro Rosso. Good luck to the kid though...he'll need it!

HRT is a risky place to race. The cars look dangerous to drive and if you go back to Turkey Liuzzi's ride height was woefully wrong which all teams you would have thought do that right at the beginning of the weekend.
Ricciardo is being thrown into the deep end in some aspects, It could make or break him. Out qualifying and beating Liuzzi will all but cement his place at Toro Rosso for 2012 if not then he will be doomed to another year of Friday's.
But fair play to him hope it does work out in the end.

On the subject of HRT apparently there will be a reshuffle coming up soon. Odd that Geoff Willis will not be the new team principle but Jose ramon Carabante will be the new principle or his son.
Kolles will make way and is touted to go to Williams for 2012.. Bit of a gamble for Williams if this is true. The revolving driver door will hit Williams!
