How far can David Price go?

Following the Haye Klitschko fight it was clear to see that Haye was locked out of the fight by Wlad exploiting his physical advantages.

We have an upcoming heavyweight in David Price who has a genuine heavyweight frame, with good reach but also some speed.

How far do you think he can go in the division? He's shown himself to have decent one punch knockout power against his early opposition but is yet to have a serious test.

Do you think he'll ultimately rise above Fury and Chisora? or is he an also ran?

He's already risen above Fury, who is an accident waiting to happen and, were it not for the fact that he has the name Tyson Fury, we wouldn't even be touting as a future major player in the Heavyweight division.

Price can go a long way, and not just because of his size. On the domestic scene, he's certainly in much better phyiscal condition than Fury, McDermott or Chisora, the latter being his main rival in terms of potential. Price actually has good hand speed for a Heavyweight. Doesn't move his feet all that much, but I suppose when you're commanding the centre of the ring and keeping your opponent on the end of a jab, you don't always have to.

His chin is a conern, mind you. Blasted out a few times in the amateurs and he's yet to face a world class puncher in the professional ranks. He'll need an acid test before I proclaim him a possible future world champion, but there's little doubt that he'll at least be a solid European level fighter for a few years to come.

I think he's potentially much better than both Fury and Chisora, although I quite respect Chisora's chippy and nuggety approach to the game. The one thing that we don't know about Price is his punch resistance and I have to say, remembering back to his amateur days, that I'm not wild with enthusiasm about it. It may be OK, but I wouldn't want to bet on it. With Price's frame and power, he should have a pretty good career. Exactly how good will be determined by that chin of his. In any case, I think Price'll rise above Fury, if that isn't to damn him with excessively faint praise.

I agree with the Captain...He has all the tools..jab and all the fundamentals needed to be succesful...He's aesthetic too...

like the look of him.......Think he beats Chisora..

If he learns to adopt a Klitschko fighting style he could surely use his physical advantages to control a fight... even in the absence of a rock solid chin WK has proved this can be a winner.

Got good power too.....He's got the gifts but needs to stay aesthetic..

price is our verison of wlad, a jabber, with long reach and good power who takes no unnecessary risks. his chin needs testing but if he passes that test then i see him beating the bunch, chisora beating fury but getting beat by price.

Looks like he could be decent; tall and rangy and uses that quite well, decent power. Hasn't really had an opportunity to show much else as his opponents keep falling over.

can't agree fellas, watched him get battered at the olympics and seen him a few times since. Plenty of limited amateurs have made decent pros but not upright manufactured chinny ones.

Looked good against Dallas, but Dallas is incredibly 1 dimensional.

He'd have a good shot against Chisora due to his size and skill but I think Fury would out hustle him.

fury stands far to upright for my liking, price would make short work of him. fury and dallas are about level pegging in my book.

Dallas isn't even British title level, which Fury has proven to be, so can't say I agree there!

i think Price is the best of the current bunch in the British scene definate european potential and if he improves who knows mayb even world level i mean the division is hardly overflowing with talent

Price bears little comparison to bowe... he doesn't even like hamburgers.

Not saying Price will be great..just think he has all the tools to be succesful now...

Do I think Tubbs, Witherspoon etc beat him...yes....

But in the era he is in..has a good chance.

Price reminds me more of Alexander Dimitrenko than Wlad Klitschko.
He'll reach Europeon level but will most probably end up getting beat by anyone beyond that.

the only thing that could let price down is his chin, it hasn't even been tickled yet.

Price is a big lad and still very young for a heavyweight... If he fills out and maintains his speed he could be a power house.

and Price was up against Camerelle who is pretty much a professional amateur if you get my meaning, as in he's atayed amateur for a long time.

Fair point on Cammarelle, it was to so me degree man against boy, albeit a 25yr old rather large boy. The manner of the defeat was the issue for me... Price didn't look like a natural fighter. He looked stiff and manufactured and to be honest a bit clueless when someone was taking it to him.

But he can certainly bang and the consensus seems that he's improved (the couple of fights i've seen of his since were against stiffs so didn't tell me much) so I'll keep more of an eye on him... i'll be especially waiting for that first big punch to land on his chin

Had an action figure of him but got bored because he had no superpowers, only about 4 voice dialogues and was too heavy to carry.

Kept retiring from duty too.

i sense some irony truss... yes degree man is bit too intellectual for hollywood... so after a short arthouse run will be straight to dvd. The sequel, degree man v predator will be next years summer blockbuster and perhaps more your bag.
