It's a good read really. I've maybe swooned about him a bit much recently, but I'll put this up for you guys to read about it.

hero. I cant believe how stingy people are. His total raised it still small considering the enormity of his achievements.

How well marketed is this though. It is an AMAZING achievement but apart from Rev telling us I haven't heard a peep about it. Even the journal entry he has doesn't give details on how to donate.

Agent: Hi Richard. Erm, would it be possible for you to do it all again next year once we've raised the profile a bit. Seems someone forgot to send out the flyers.

Thank you Safe, been looking for it myself - despite the promotion that should have occured from the people financing the challenge, you'd think that the profile would be raised by the BBC (or any other terestrial TV station) bit more than a rugby column - after all, it sin't a rugby related issue other than he is a former professional player - the enourmity of the task is increadible - hopefully the squad players will look at this and have some understanding of what mental toughness actually is, and appreciate that failure is not an option, and when things get really tough (as they would do in arctic gale force winds, or when your enduring frostbite despite your best efforts to protect yourself knowing that your mobility is hindered and with one more peak to climb, with only a 20 hour turn around!) you dig right to the depth of your being and you pick yourslef and keep going, and you never resign yourself to losing or being beaten, as it's not a part of your mindset.

Best of luck Richard - even if you don't make the world record, you'll have achieved a feat that very few will emulate for generations and all for a selfless worthy cause.

BBC Wales have had several reports on the 18:30 Wales Today news. So far I have seen nothing on the 18:00 News on UK-wide BBC

This (despite not being the best written piece for a pedant) is a wonderful write up for Richard Parks. Probably the only piece I've seen that begins to do it justice. I have been following it from the off, but there's things that make what he's done more incredible like the sacrifices he made for it (his parents and him remortgaging their house etc).

Said it before, I'll say it again. I sincerely hope he smashes his one million pound target. It's also a good read that gives you a slight insight into how a person feels when their rugby career is prematurely ended. I hope people like frigging Gavin Henson read lines like this especially the last sentence;

"I loved rugby and simply wasn't ready to finish, and wanted to play more for Wales; it was a real kick in the nuts, if I can use that phrase. It was a lifestyle and privilege to earn money for something I would do for free."

Nice to read an article that's not sensational guff for a change. I just watched the second episode of his challenge, it's difficult to comprehend the Enormity of his challenge from my sofa but I sat in awe watching him struggling through muddy jungles and climbing Everest. Well done Rich, maybe the dragons could use you as a coach?

Much like they did for the Barbarians game, Richard is going to be on the big screen again before the game. I personally would have had him on the pitch like they used to do for Calzaghe etc, but at least he will get more or less a full house to applaud his achievements this time.

Apparently Richard is being welcomed onto the pitch tomorrow, before the game. Such great news. I hope all in attendance give him the reception he deserves.
