yo,
just booked a weeks holiday to marrakech, morocco on 2nd aug.
Anyone been there and played golf?
I fancy getting a couple of rounds in, any recommendations? don't think I will take my clubs, just hire them there.

It will be as hot as hades at that time of year. I don't think you'll want to do much more than sip cocktails and shoo off persistant taxi drivers.

sr, thats maybe why the golf seems quite cheap at around 40 quid. Have you been and what do you think? I think I got a good deal £450 pp all inclusive 5* which although not somewhere I especially wanted to go to, the price was right. Iv'e got 3 days at royal lytham to look forward to beginning of september, so if there is no golf there it won't break my heart

I was there last summer and it was really really hot, e.g. 45 degrees (and I relish the heat and humidity) but I wouldn't necessarily want to play golf in it.
I reckon you could play golf in those temps, but you'd definitely need a lot of water or else take the dreaded buggy, but I wouldn't be seen dead in one of those.

I was asked to take a buggy in the dominican republic and when I refused the compulsory caddie wanted to punch my head in

I think the temperature is why Shane Lowry doesn't do well in the Moroccan Open! laughing
