Please post any free agent news on this easy-to-find thread!

First item, Mark Herzlich has apparently signed with the Giants.

Nick Barnett will be released if he can't be traded.

Tbh I find the UDFA period quite dull. As exciting as it seems at first, the vast majority of these guys won't make it halfway through preseason. 90 man roster means you have to cut 37 guys after all.

The Patriots have told Tully Banta-Cain he will be released on Thursday.
Cowboys to release Leonard Davis.
LSU WR Terrence Toliver has been signed by Houston. Happy for him.

Also talk about Leinart to the Seahawks so that there QB this year would come out of Whitehurst, Jackson and Leinart... a whole lot of possibility, but not a lot of previous success amongst those guys.

Charles Johnson staying with the Panthers despite interest from the Falcons... good move by the Panthers having let Peppers go last year.
Keeps a good young player in Charlotte and they need all the help they can get

Brandon Saine (RB)
Kerry Taylor (WR)
Sampson Genus (C)
Ray Dominguez (OL)

All Packers, don't know anything about any of them. Realistically I can only really see us potentially keeping the Offensive Linemen, we need cover and youth there but who knows if it'll be them or now.

Jacoby Jones is staying with the Texans... probably an all right decision.

Ike Taylor is staying with the Steelers. 4 year deal

Terrance Newman will not be released by the Cowboys, but they want to restructure his deal... very good idea to restructure as he is not worth the $9m odd he is counting against the cap this year.

Sanchez is saying him and Revis would negotiate their contracts to allow the Jets to spend... as such Asomghua has been mentioned... don't see that happening, the Jets are high on the cap already and need to sign plenty of their current players... so not need to corners on double digit annual salaries! (especially when the Jets are also apparently bidding for Drayton Florence)

Thigpen has signed a 3 year deal to go to Buffalo and be reunited with Chan Gailey. Probably wont push Fitz for the starting job, but will provide some decent enough competition and he fits the system.

Doug Free is staying with the Cowboys for $32m over 4 seasons... think that's the numbers.

Quentin Mikel is moving from Philly to St Louis to replace OJ Atogwe who left for the Redskins before the lockout

Alex Smith on a 1 year $5m deal with the 49ers. Smart move and completely expected given the coaches comments over the offseason. Will help keep Kaepernick off the field which should help him develop as he is an unorthodox QB.

ESPN also suggests Devin Aromashadou has joined the Vikes on a one year deal.

Also Tamps have made Adrian Clayborn the first 1st round draft pick to sign on the dotted line... who could forget Pr4wns sheer outrage at his drafting.... comedy gold!

Will help Chris Johnson as well. Hasselbeck can be a bit more of a game manager now that he has a proper running attack and stop throwing picks, C2K won't have 10 men in the box because Hasselbeck will find the open receivers.

GSC - Hasselbeck didn't have the best OL in Seattle over the last 2 seasons, and had it not been for a resurgent Mike Williams, probably would have looked worse. The Titans have a pretty decent line so he should be upright for longer and therefore more productive. I would agree that he's past his best though.

While he didn't have the best supporting cast, throwing for a sub 60% completion rate, more INTs than TDs, and 3000 yards in 14 games suggests to me hes not about to recapture the magic.

Maybe I'm wrong and he'll be resurgent in Tennessee, but I'm still not expecting the Titans to be in the playoff race.

I'm not expecting that either... but I reckon it is better to go with him for a year than with jake Locker straight away

It would be helpful to have a known quantity at QB to throw to him. Maybe VY isn't looking too bad of an option right now...

I'd still like us to re-sign Santana. With him, Armstrong, Hankerson and Stallworth we'd have a decent receiving line up alongside Cooley.

Yeah we use all sorts of defensive schemes now. I just think he's far too steep for what you'll actually be getting (a 30-year-old corner who is close to his declining years).

Ruud could be gone from Tampa. Would have though it is insane to let a rookie lead your defence, unless they have plans for a replacement.

If he's leaving then it can't be due to money as you have a lot you need to spend to reach the minimum.

And they didn't want to pay Ruud before the minimum spend came in the CBA.

Also they could easily go for VY to back up Freeman. They have plenty of free agents they may resign like Joseph,Cadillac and Spurlock(he is a RFA)

Quote ESPN: "
Holmes' deal, believed to be in the $10 million-a-year range, is so big that it probably means they can't afford to re-sign Braylon Edwards, another high-profile free agent. Edwards is coming off a strong season, but the Jets prioritized Holmes because of his speed and game-changing ability."

Presumably that means Ndamdi is out of range... I would hate for him to go to the Jets and I don't think they can possibly afford as I mentioned in the other "jets" based article today
