Welcome to the 606v2 IPL

After discussions with FOF, welcome to the first season of the 606v2IPL.

Basically this will run similarly to other Sports Games with every member of the league taking charge of an IPL side and competing for the title. Firstly I would like to see how much interest there would be in this league.

There are 10 slots available as there are ten teams (Franchises), however I will be taking one of the franchises so 9 other spaces remain. (Now 0 left)

See my last post in the improvements 'sticky', Gregers.

I think it may be better for all involved if we did it as a standard fantasy league whereby we all start with x amount of credits/cash, and select our 11 using that. Then we just get points for runs, wickets, catches etc.

Far less maintenance, and more people can get involved.

Yeah Gregers when the IPL starts afresh I will run a fantasy cricket league.

Likewise, I will do the same when the next English County season starts.

So this game you're suggesting is purely hypothetical, and we vote on which team wins, as opposed to taking note of real results? Am I right?

Yep, although obviously it is based on the players playing so sort of based on real life. I like your idea of a fantasy league based on real events as well.

The IPL is not until next spring now.

This league will start either this week or next, depending on when every team is taken.

This tournament will run during the IPL off-season. I suggest we have a season that lasts 10 weeks or something similar, and then have a break for a few weeks, just so that this isn't a constant thing.

Also, this competition won't be running when the actual IPL itself is on, as the actual fantasy cricket league will begin then.

Gregers, I suggest you create a new thread entitled 606v2 IPL Fantasy League Rules.

Make sure no stone if left unturned, all bases are covered etc with regard to transfers, how results will be formed etc.

Can the Coaches create individual pages for their franchises. I'll do mine for Mumbai Indians now and then people can follow my lead if they wish
