What a signing that would be for Stoke. Would fit in their too IMO.

Liverpool reject 8m plus Benayoun for Meireles. Think Chelsea may come back with another bid there.

Merieles would be a good signing for either Chelsea or Arsenal I think

Just saw, I guess with their two new signings, Vermalen and Sagna at the back it's not a bad back four.

And if they get Benayoun and Park C.Y suddenly their squad doesnt look quite so bad.

Still think arsenal should go for Parker, him and Wilshere would be class together

Levy was never going to sell.

He'd made that perfectly clear, and it became about principle rather than business.

Really didnt expect that from Arsenal yesterday. Stoke got 2 really good deals too. Bolton did well with signing 2 and keeping Cahill and obviously Q.P.R did very well.

Luke, its crazy. He wanted to leave and there is no way he is worth 40m.

West ham did some brilliant deals. We look stronger than we did in the prem!

Arteta was a surprise. Couldn't see Everton letting him go with no chance to get a replacement but perhaps their need for cash was greater than the need to keep the player. Mertesacker will be interesting. Good in the air but not very mobile.

Disappointed we let Benayoun go. I think he's a good player and could certainly do a job for us but I assume AVB doesn't rate him. Meireles is a good buy though imo. Really like him. Can see us going like City now with Meireles and Ramires holding and a fluid front four.

No signings by Utd. Actually true to their word for change.

Great signings for Stoke yesterday, Palacios is the quality CM their team lacks and Jerome and Crouch will fit right in with their style of play. Definetly a good outside bet for the Europa League this year, so much so I've stuck a tenner on them at 33/1

How do people think Modric will react to being kept at Spurs? He seems to have spat his dummy out so far but will be focus back on Spurs now the window has shut or remain a shadow of himself?

He has no choice but to get on with it. If he performs badly, a club might not come in for him in Jan/next summer.

I'd say he won't be the same player, I'm not sure why I just have this feeling he won't be the same, then Chelsea will come back for him in January and pay over the top.

I would have liked to see them bring in more technical players Luke, but I guess its the way Pulis is going so credit to him as they are top signings.

I get the impression that Harry would have sold him if it were his decision and used the money to get some quality replacements, £40m is a lot of cash. But Levy had backed himself into a corner by saying he wasn't going to go so had to stand firm to keep face.

Tbh, I'm glad we didn't buy him for the money quoted. Good player but don't think he's worth that sort of cash.

Stoke have got Jonathon Walters too, who I think is a very good player. Stoke will finish in the top half I think.

I've wanted to see how Arteta fares at a big club for ages, I'm not sure about him. I think on his day, he can be brilliant, but games just pass him by.

I think it's brave of Levy to do that with Modric, and actually I applaud him for it.
