USO day five fri 2/9/11
Hello
The title says it all...
I'm looking forward to Nalby-Luby.
The Nadull should have a cakewalk against Mahut - unless it goes to five sets and they have a marathon tiebreaker
Roddick-Sock: A battle of the new and old Americans. Also a clash of the big servers
Murray-Hasse: I think this could be tough for Murray if Hasse hits the zone.
Ferrer-Blake: Battle of the golden oldies.
Lots of good matches.

We won't see a repeat of Mahut's serving heroics from the Isner clash!
Ljubi will win over Nalby, although I have no preference as they both hit the ball sweetly.
Roddick in straights over the newbie.
Normal win for Murray, Haase doesn't play good enough defense.
Ferrer will sadly beat Blake, as usual his great fitness will mask over his lack of talent to get him through.

Just got my first look at Diego Junqueira, Del Potro's opponent... he's not really a conventional shape for a professional athlete, is he? I thought DelPo was playing James Belushi when I first looked!

I haven't see Diego Junqueira HM - but from your description, I think that might be one to watch
I am not sure who I am rooting for out of Ljubicic and Nalbandian - probably Fat Dave.
Hopefully it will be another uneventful, routine victory for Andy over Haase, and no the only question will be how long Mahut is able to delay Rafa on court.

I saw the clip emancipator put up with the almighty FH return from Blake. Awesome it was.
I shall watch the Murray match. Currently watching Delpo and Junqueira is just racking up the UE's. His movement on the baseline is dreadful.
On the whole there are some good matches on today.

Haha, this Diego dude looks like he could be Nalby's fat uncle.
Does anyone know how tall he is?

All I know is that he moves in the court like a slug. The only time he moves quick is at the changeover!

The Del Potro match was strange. He steam-rollered the first two sets but in the third set he went right off the boil and at the end almost looked tired or injured and limped over the line so to speak. Still good to see him back competing again.

Stan serving for the first set but then lost it in the tiebreak. Donald is finally coming of age....though I would not bet on him winning this match.

Stan has taken the second set 6 3 against Donald Young, and is up a break in the third.
Looks as if it might be going pear shaped for Ernie
Just seen your post legend - I've had to cave in to family pressure, so hiding from England in other room! Bl***dy football, the season gets longer and longer

Looking forward to the Nalby/Ljubo match! 2 giants of the weak era. The last generation of great ball strikers...before the golden era settled in with sweat and muscles.

In this case you have just one option left: what I call the "definitive option": you pick up your telly and smiling, perfectly calm, you move towards the window, and once your there: you lift the telly up and ,with all your strength, you smash it in the street. Then you come back, perfectly calm, to sit down in your favourite armchair and light up a cigarette.
The next occasion they won’t forget.

Is this Haase guy going to be a good match up for Murray? Honestly I don't remember to have seen him play before/

Haase has started well, Murray's serve keeping him in it at the moment, he's had to fight off three break points already...

Re: USO day five fri 2/9/11
He beat Murray once a few years ago when Murray was about No 10 in the world. In Haase's own words, Murray a stronger player now and Haase has been through knee surgery, and the knee is apt to 'fill' if knocked, so he is vulnerable to injury.
Bottom line, at his best Haase may give Murray a competitive match, but Andy should come through easily.

Murray is in the brown stuff. Haase is playing solid. He is going for his shots and Murray has wilted. He needs to go on the attack.

Haven't been watching the match but I know that when hasse hits the zone he can hit winners from anywhere.
Just the kind of opponent that can blast Murray off the court. Of course Murray should still win.

Haase went from 40-0 in control to complete poo. Not sure what happened there. He has no reason to feel the nerves. Big tiebreaker coming up.

Dear oh dear oh dear. Andy what the Flip? It is there on a plate and you hand it back, only to get a net call and then hit a absolute gash of a FH.

Re: USO day five fri 2/9/11
I don't believe it, Murray works his way to a 3-0 lead with two mini-breaks and then loses it completely, tossing it a DF and about five unforced errors to gift wrap the first set. That was horrible!

Re: USO day five fri 2/9/11
Murray missing 2 very easy and important FHs at crucial times in that TB. He is going to win but a nervous display thus far from the Scott. He did not make the most of a very lucky net cord at SP.

Gulbis out then
Muller through to face either Melzer/Kunitsyn.. heading to a 5th set
Murray's first set as usual playing too ugly, not impressive..!
