Breaking News: Everton crowned Furious League champions after 1-0 win against Birmingham

NOTICEBOARD

This week's TPs will be closed on Wednesday, but open on Thursday instead. Lawyers will also stay open for you to accept offers until the close of Thursday.

Players who left the league through season 2 lawyers will become available to buy in TPs from Thursday (15th)

Season 4 - U21 = players born on or after 01/10/1990

New League Squad Limit Rules to be introduced!

From season 4, there will a 25 man league squad limit from which you will be able to select players to play in league games.

These will be the 25 players from which your injuries will be drawn so as to prevent managers from the bigger, richer teams from diluting the risk of their stars picking up injuries.

You will be able to take players in and out of your League 25, but from the point that injuries are drawn that is the 25 that you must select your league team from. Injuries will now be drawn on Wednesdays

Your overall squad can remain larger than 25, but your League eligible 25
must be shown separately. Players outside of the 25 can still play in cup and European competitions.

ROLL OF HONOUR

League Champions

Season 1 - Blackburn (Andy)

Season 2 - Tottenham (Nick)

Season 3 - Everton (Smartest)

Cup Winners

Season 1 - no competition

Season 2 - Everton (Smartest)

Season 3 - Stoke (Viva)

I will admit that Fabregas and Nasri are top class players and have not been replaced with such quality. But Fabregas had very little impact last season for us. Nasri was a big impact until xmas and then like Fabregas had very little impact.

I think the squad as a whole could be stronger this season, I'm just gutted Wilshire is out until November because I think he would be a massive boost to the team.

If Real come knocking I can't see Luis Suarez turning them down.

I hope the other striker they are said to be interested in is not RVP. Hopefully it is Rooney or Kevin Davies!

smartestgooner wrote:Did you watch the Arsenal game Tranq? The combination of Merieles and Suarez changed the dimension of the game. Without Suarez and now Meireles you don't have that natural creativity to unlock defences.

meireles was a key part of changing that, but, we will have gerrard back soon, and he is the improvement on him, the pressure was on gerrard to produce these past couple of seasons as we have lost alonso to set up play, adam is now in so gerrard can just focus on attacking and not having to set up play from deep, if suarez does get injured, it will be a worry, but with the euros coming up at the end of the season, the ponytail will be chomping at the bit to get himself in the england team, and if he does have the likes of gerrard, kuyt, hendo, maxi and bellamy playing of him, his lack of pace will be less of a worry

im not entirely sure suarez would leave in january, if we are in contention for a cl place in january i think he will stay, if we dont get a cl place at all, i wouldnt begrudge him a move to real, aslong as we get more than we got for samson of chelsea

his beergut wil be useful, it will means defenders cant hug him at set pieces, plus he can bounce skrtel out of the way when the set pieces do come to him

he seems to be happy with benzema now, and i cant really see how suarez, or chicarito if thats the other one he wants, would fit into that team, plus if he wanted suarez that badly, hed come back in for him in the summer, plus i dont think suarez would desert us mid season

Gentlemen,

I am going to stand down from my position as Sunderland manager and as the league runner.

My time will be too limited in the coming month with work and a potential promotion to work towards. The Furious League is too much of a temptation, distraction and frustration at the moment and I really need to remove that temptation!!

I will see out the final game of the season as Sunderland manager, so if you could all keep an eye out for new manager. I will keep running the league for a couple more weeks, but you need a volunteer to take over. I will stop as league runner on the 16th at the latest, so that is when you need someone by.

Morning all.

Afro, sorry to here but all the best with promotion. I know it has to be done, I calmed before and then returned as a regular poster again.

I may take the position. Work has calmed down for me as our mad crazy busy time is spring summer.
But then again I may not as there is interest in "Project Furious Association" so Ill make a decision after speaking to people today.

BTW word on the street is Joes want BOTH Luis "cheating horse mouth" Suárez and Chicharito.

Morning,

Bigfellas Shocked

I've had bad experiences running leagues, I've done two, both unsuccessfully, so I'm certainly not the guy for the job. Maybe if your furious association kicks off Nick we can end this league with the third season?

I'm sure I will be on regularly for the banter, but it's just too tempting to come onto the league atm. I find that I sit down to start something, think "I'll just have a quick look at the league" and then 30 minutes later I'm still posting!!

It would make sense for you to take it back over. It is the "Furious League" after all

How do you get any work done Afro lol.
Nah Im kinda like that too, but I still manage to take calls while posting, sometime I do have to ask customer to repeat themselves tho lol.

I not sure if I want this league to end, I remembered all the trouble we had just starting one up again. Im going to wait for Viva and Andy. If I did the Furious Association I would like it if them two run one of the league each, 3 leagues with 6 teams = 18 managers required. Or I might just do 3 leagues with 4 teams, 12 managers.

Brahma - just PM'd you back again.

The other possibility is that Andy, the Blackburn manager has previously expressed an interest in taking Sunderland over (he is a Mackem).

As Sunderland have no money, it may be that he wants to take Sunderland and you could have Blackburn. They have £27m in the kitty.

Depends on what you would prefer, but worth checking with him if you would prefer the pot of money.

Shall I PM you when he responds?

Meanwhile here is how it works:

You are manager of your side and every week there are matches.
By the close of Friday, you submit a set of tactics - this usually includes a starting XI and subs, tactical instructions to your players on how to play and any substitutions. - have a look here for the recent tactic submissions

https://www.606v2.com/t9132-furious-league-tactic-submission

Then on Monday, voting opens. All managers predict the score of each match other than their own, giving reasons for their vote. Andy then calculates the result based on the votes - here is this weeks voting

https://www.606v2.com/t9126p50-furious-league-match-voting-page

You can improve your team by buying and selling players.

Buying - These can be domestically with other managers in the league, or through Transfer Pending (TPs), which is where you can buy players from outside of the league. For TPs, you make an enquiry and that enquiry is judged by Smarts as to whether it is realistic. These are quite strict, so whether you can attract a player depends on your clubs standing, league position etc.

Selling - you can sell domestically. There are also lawyers offers. Each week, you will receive 2 offers from outside the league that you can accept or reject. You can also release players - when you do this, you get half the value of what you paid/market value

Sponsors are done at the start of the season, so you don't need to pick a new one. Season 3 has 1 game left, so it will be after that.

Ahead of season 4, each team will get offered a list of sponsors to pick 1 from. It normally comprises cash up front, win/draw bonuses and then a bonus for achieving a certain league position.

Brahma - Andy is going to take Sunderland, so Blackburn are yours.

You now need to set-up a team page. You can either copy and paste from Andy's. or when he is next around, he will happily send you the codes from his page

Codes - BBCode, which is what gives all the nice formatting and tables etc.

Some like to use it, some don't. If you are not sure, probably better just to not use it and copy and paste the Blackburn page.

If you don't submit your tactics on time, you lose the game 2-0 on default. If don't vote, first time you get a warning, second time you face a points deduction. We like to feel power crazy on here.

And Viva is the law keeper. He polices the joint making sure everyone is towing the line. Upset him and he will call you a donkey!

Smarts - no

Brahma - in truth there is a lot of banter and it is a good laugh on here. Never take anything said too seriously and you will get on just fine Laugh

Last game this week, so tactics in by 5pm on Friday. TPs are open Mon-Wed each week, so you also have the chance to buy some more players. Andy did answer the two lawyers for Blackburn, but he had only just done it, so we can ignore his answer and you can choose whether to sell those players.

I will aim to get season 4 up and running straight away before I hand over the reins, but there may be a weeks break.
