Some contrasting styles to clash today

Murray V Isner - Hopefully Murray wins quickly; not sure I can endure any more of Isner (We got a lifetimes worth at W10). Murray in 3
The Nadull V A-Rod - In previous years this would have been an interesting one but today, I'm not so sure. A-Rod won't have enough steam to stay with The Nadull. The Nadull wins in four.



emancipator - Let there be sunshine.

Andy two sets up now leading 7-5 6-4 and looking comfortable. Isner just not got the all-round game to cope with Andy.

I will give Isner his due in that second set. Though he was outplayed in first games and made some errors, he still played a tight set and just didn't have enough to get the break back.

Isner is a solid player but there are certain areas of his game that are exploitable.

I just wish Andy would be more attacking on the FH. My only bugbearer with him.

Great net play by Isner. Has played some cracking points on the returner game.

Oh no, Isner breaks.

Murray totally lacked composure and finesse in that game...there is absolutely no excuse for that crap error fest.

Fair play to Isner as he keeps battling away.

Murray lost a bit of focus here, and is immediately punished for it. He has the game to get back into this set, but needs to get his concentration back quickly...

Had an easy point at 30 all and didn't go down the line with 2/3 chances, terrible..

Murray should reach the semi-final (perhaps in four), at which point he would have reached his seeding. Anything more will be a bonus. Hopefully he will work on these opportunities.

Murray just down a break in this set, and I don't think Isner has the fitness to keep up with Murray when push comes to shove.

The 'anything more will be a bonus' attitude is exactly why Murray will be stopped again by a top 3 player..

Murray is so defensive though when it matters.

Quick service game from Isner. Murray needs to hold his serve to force Isner to serve for the set.

Isner's serving has just been too good in this set, but Murray will be kicking himself for that sloppy service game

Isner has upped the serving. Anyone would have trouble with those last 2 service games.

Third set to Isner and the trainer is coming out to examine Isner's ankle.

Isner wins the third set while emancipator occupies himself.

MTO for Isner - will he be able to continue?

Murray's gotta hold serve here.

Isner served at 79% in that third set, that's too good for pretty much anybody

Good play from both players 40-0. Commy says Isner is looking into Murray's eyes and observing the mental breakdown.

Isner dictating the rallies, not a good sign.

Yep, Isner serving at 79% would at least guarantee him a TB against every player in the world.

Murray needs to be careful here. He isn't moving Isner as much as he should be, and Isner is getting a chance to hit some.... His variety was great for 2 sets. Needs to get that back.

Last thing he needs is a 5th set!

Murray is different (and superior) to Henman in many respects, but why, of all of Henman's characteristics, did he have to mimic the ability to go walkabout when doing well and put himself and those supporting him through the wringer please?

chance gone for Murray there, but it's some huge serving from Isner that gets him out of jail again, while Murray's passing game has been that little bit off today...

Inexplicably, Murray had some sort of mental breakdown and gave Isner some confidence.

As John McEnroe said, these sort of breakdowns have been costing him slams.

Murray needs to give up on the lob. Apart from the one sublime success, it has been poor. Just go for the pass Andy
