Cairns out for rest of year
Radge, my friend, bad news for you - knee surgery puts Edinburgh's Ben Cairns out for the rest of 2011: Cairnsy Think we'll see quite a bit more of Matt Scott instead at OC, altho I'd prefer to see the youngster at 12

I heard they reckoned 3-6months. So he would make it back before April surely?

Agreed mushroom, wasn't intending to suggest it was season-ending, and think we might see him again in Jan/Feb?Welshmushroom wrote:I heard they reckoned 3-6months. So he would make it back before April surely?

Bad news for Cairns. With NDL at the World Cup he badly needed to cement his spot at 13 for Edinburgh to have any hope getting into the Scotland set-up.
It's a shame because he's a good player and a talent. Scott looks the business though, Ansbro is the incumbent, Evans is an option, NDL wasn't bad at the WC and Grove is back at 13 for Worcester - Cairns needs to get back fit and fully deliver on the glimpses of talent we've seen. He's probably the sharpest runner from that group, but hasn't been able to secure a decent run in the side, and now this.

I suppose this means De luckless will be 13 for the rest of the season. That could be a good thing, or it could be a bad thing, you never know...

Feel very sorry for Cairns.
Did he date Robinson's daughter or something?
By far the most talented guy in recent times to miss out on an extended run with the full national side.
