Heath Slater - Your Thoughts?

First topic message reminder :

I've been discussing on other threads the merits of Heath Slater, and his potential within the WWE, and have been suprised to come up against quite a lot of negativity towards the one man rock band.

For me Heath is a bright star on the Smackdown undercard, and has shown the potential to be a future star at maybe as high a level as the Intercontinental title. He's got a unique look. He's good in the ring, and on the mic. He's cocky and brash. And he's already made a name for himself within the Nexus and the Corre.

For me it's a real shame that he and Justin Gabriel seem to have distanced themselves from each other, because they were a good pairing, and could have gone on to be one of WWE's great tag teams. And maybe this is the division which holds the most hope for Slater long term.

I think Slater deserves to make an impact in WWE in 2012, whether it be as a solo act, or as part of a tag team, and I really hope he seizes any opportunity he is given to make it so.

What are your thoughts on Heath Slater?

Does he have a future with the WWE?
Or has any hope been extinguished by his Wellness Policy violation?

To be fair to ED this thread is certainly clearing up a serious amount of debris on the google rankings! I actually kinda want you to be proved right but in the same way I want Tom to catch jerry or the terminator to get his hands on that snot nosed John Connor! Viva la slater!

He probably could - because he's a good actor, and he's good on the mic. But I think he would lose his intensity if they gave him that gimmick.

You need to actually have intensity in order to lose it...

I can't believe you are all so down on Heath Slater. I have seen opinions on this wrestling board, and 606's before it, which have suprised me, but the groundwell of negative opinion on Heath Slater has dumbfounded me. I mean that seriously. It actually blows my mind a little.

He's obviously got some tools otherwise he wouldn't have achieved what he has in the wwe, IMO he doesn't get me out of my seat, he doesn't create any emotion in me and he looks pretty average in the ring, but given time, a decent gimmick and if he's put with the right people then he could achieve a mid card title in the future but ATM especially after his suspension that is a massive 'could'

The suspension does worry me. I really hope it doesn't derail his career. It's poor timing. (Well, he shouldn't have done it at all - but this particular time was foolish)

Sorry ED. I will refrain from the negative comments.

One positive thing I can say about Heath is he has a good finishing move. Sweetness is a Scorpion Death Drop, but he does it with a good snap and a fling of the hair (rather like Maryse's DDT).

I really like DDT's and reverse DDT's when done properly. Last WWE wrestler that used the reverse DDT as a finisher was Mideon. So that is a definite step up.

Mason Ryan was also given the FCW Title and he is beyond useless

Well if being FCW champion is anything to go by, it is not that much of a "claim to fame" when Slater held the belt for just over a month

Who was better than him in Nexus? I'm classing Barrett as better. There is no-one else from that stable who has made as big an impact as Slater (with Gabriel).

No, ED said 2nd, so Sheamus is obviously No.1. And put it this way, I would happily call Slater a "ginge" to his face. Sheamus would break your spine and comb his glorious noon day sun locks with it. I am sure there are some more gingers in the company that need to come out of the closet.
