Heath Slater - Your Thoughts?

First topic message reminder :

I've been discussing on other threads the merits of Heath Slater, and his potential within the WWE, and have been suprised to come up against quite a lot of negativity towards the one man rock band.

For me Heath is a bright star on the Smackdown undercard, and has shown the potential to be a future star at maybe as high a level as the Intercontinental title. He's got a unique look. He's good in the ring, and on the mic. He's cocky and brash. And he's already made a name for himself within the Nexus and the Corre.

For me it's a real shame that he and Justin Gabriel seem to have distanced themselves from each other, because they were a good pairing, and could have gone on to be one of WWE's great tag teams. And maybe this is the division which holds the most hope for Slater long term.

I think Slater deserves to make an impact in WWE in 2012, whether it be as a solo act, or as part of a tag team, and I really hope he seizes any opportunity he is given to make it so.

What are your thoughts on Heath Slater?

Does he have a future with the WWE?
Or has any hope been extinguished by his Wellness Policy violation?

If he was anywhere near that he'd be more than a curtain jerker that the crowd couldn't give a damn about bud

If Slater was elevated, he would just be sued for squashes for upcoming talent. I could see like a Rob Terry squashing him week after week. He just has nothing going for him unfortunately.

I really don't see why they'd hault his push, he has been awesome in two very different roles in the past year and has had some very enjoyable matches and promos, he looks and carries himself like a star and is from a well known Wrestling family, he's a natural, he also has big supporters in Orton, Triple H, and Cena, I'm unsure how much influence HBK still has these days but he was also a big fan

ED - It will take a lot to take Heath from a jobber and 'who's that guy?' to a singles title holder and over with the fans. In under a year ahead of other potential talent that is already ahead? Too much work and opportunity to lay on one guy.

I'm just wondering if I need to re-assess my view on some WWE guys. I think it's healthy to have a different view to the other guys on the forum, but not so wildly different - it makes me feel a bit out of touch .

I would put Heath Slater in the same bracket as Shannon Moore, a usesless piece of poopie

I would rather sit through HHH v the broom with my eye lids stapled open, or drop the soap infront of Orlando Jordan in the showers than have to spend another second of my life watching Heath strut his stuff

I wouldn't do that!!!! If you hadn't broadcasted your views on slater, today would have been pretty boring on here! Stick to your guns...and if all else fails fall back on debris, it makes me chuckle every time I read that post!

Morrison is a million miles ahead of Slater, his gimmick and character might be out dated but at least he has one, the fans, the live crowd at least always seem high on him, he's credible in the ring and has a decent move set

I think for every headline impressive performance, you get an equally impressive under-the-radar one. And it is Slater that has delivered it.Whilst Punk has been dropping pipe-bombs, Slater has been quietly cleaning up the debris.

I believe in Slater. He's a future world champ.

In order for that to happen the WWE would need to give a crap about that show and actually make something happen on it

Gabriel is a face now - and has the tools to go it alone. Personally I agree with a few posters on other threads, that Gabriel should be partnered with Kofi Kingston, as a replacement for Evan Bourne.
