Is Bale Good?

Was Bale a one time player? Did he purely have a purple patch last season?

I don't think so. I think he's a terrific player with a massive future ahead of him. I also think Fergie will swoop for him when Harry leaves for the England job.

For a winger he doesn't tend to get a lot of assists, but I'd bet most fullbacks are scared to face him. Being voted by fellow players as the best player last year much show that the lad had more than just a little puruple patch.

When he's good he's an unstoppable human wrecking ball, check the Inter Milan matches last season.

He did drop off a little at the end of last season but he's a great talent nonetheless.

I've always found this guy as a bit of a mystery. On his day excellent player, but after his performance in Milan people were putting 50 million price tags on him. For me, never worth that much. I think over the course of the year since that game, he has become more predictable making it easier for the full backs that play against him every weekend.

is bale good- hell yeah- who can argue that.

is he the new giggs?

has he the best potential?

I think he's a good player on form, but too many times he has gone missing and I do think he is overrated after his performances against Inter, and he may have struggled to cope with the pressure put on him after those results.

Now that the emphasis has gone away from him in the team and more focus is on players like VDV, Modric and Adebayor he looks to be picking up his old form, perhaps he can keep it up despite the spotlight shining on him this time.

He ain't the best Welsh player that title belongs to Ramsey.

Bale is a good player but not consistent enough, he had that little spell during the Milan games but after that was hardly seen. I would cry if Bale was bought we already have Nani and Young who are better.

You could argue that Nani is inconsistent too. I do like Ashley Young though, that deconstruction of Arsenal will live long in the memory.

Seen nearly all Bale's home games. Was probably overpraised after the -admittedly - marvellous Milan performances last year. But it does him a dis-service to say he's over-rated.
He's still fairly young and to me, he is an immense talent. There's no substitute for pace and he's got it in spades. His finishing could be better although he's still managed some fine goals. He's sometimes reluctant to run ahead into wing positions and play give-and-goes and his tracking back is not all that great. He's certainly no full-back.
All in all, still a bit raw but a terrific player.

He's a good player but it does'nt help the lad when you have so called respected pundit's saying he is the best left sided player in the world. Good player that's all.

Yes, absolutely.

Consistency is now the key for him.

A big issue is of course that his game relies so heavily on pace it only takes one serious injury to ruin his whole game.

Is Bale good?, Yes, Is he as good as the media make out?, No.

i believe that bale is fantastic when he is on form, truth be told nigh on unstoppable as maicon found out the hard way.

however its not that he is particularly inconsistent and has shockers its just a fair amount of the time the end product isnt quite there. i have no doubt that the end product will become more consistent if he works hard.

i think it was almost a burden in one way with his performances against milan because people wanted to see that bale everytime and its just not possible.

but lets be fair with the likes of ronaldo in his first few proper seasons the end product wasnt quite there but the obvious talent was there and i think if he fulfills his potential he can be up there with the best.
