The Best Highflier of All Time
I am going to set up a few threads over the next couple of weeks to discuss the Best Ever at certain forms of wrestling. I will be putting it up for discussion to create some debate and then open a thread with a poll to see who 606v2 sees as the best of that genre.
We all know that within the world of professional wrestling, we have the hardcore guys, the brawlers, the submission experts, the mat wrestlers and the guys we will discuss first;
The Highfliers.
In all of the companies across the world we have guys who are willing to put their bodies on the line to steal the best spot in a match. But who is the best of all time?
Put forwards you opinions, and hopefully I will be able to create some debate on the pages.
I look forward to responses, thanks.

Jeff Hardy for me.
More often than not, he has put his body on the line both inside of the ring, and outside of it.
Swanton Bomb off the top of a massive ladder through a table = amazing.

Or how about a Whisper in the Wind off the top of a cage?

I'm going to go for Rey Mysterio, for helping to build the legendary WCW Cruiserweight Division. Matches he put on with Guererro and Jericho were unbelievable and showed to be a wrestler at that point, you didn't need to be a body-builder.

I think it has to be Rey Mysterio, ridiculously small, but very talented. Even though I have only seen him in the WWE, where people have said he has never been as good, he has still always been a big favourite of mine, some of the things he can do in the ring are just amazing.

Re: The Best Highflier of All Time
Rey Mysterio gets my vote.
From his days in WCW he tore the house down week in out with his high flying style, his matches with Billy Kidman were some of the best high flying match ups i've ever seen.
Since his move the the WWE he has never managed to repeat the style he had going in WCW if that his down to him or the WWE I don't know.
My top 5 would be
1) Rey Mysterio
2) Shawn Michaels
3) Jimmy Snuka
4) Randy Savage
5) Jeff Hardy

I dont mean to be awkward but the word 'highflier' can a bit misleading. How are we interpreting a 'highflier' and is it just cruiserweights?

In answer to your again deleted post, Steiner's FrankenSteiner is from the top rope, does that not make it a high flying move?

In that case, I vote for Big Show based on his elbow drop on Mark Henry at Survivor Series.

Re: The Best Highflier of All Time
I'd go with Jeff Hardy, RVD and AJ Styles as some of the best I've seen.
Especially impressed with some of Styles' moves. Not so much high-flying as long-flying (to flatten opponents outside the ring).
Some of the X Division guys have some pretty cool moves too, like Kendrick and Aries.

Great Khali climbs over the top rope as he enters the ring, I'm going for him.
Re: The Best Highflier of All Time
The Undertaker walks across the top rope when he goes Old School. Im going for him.

Very fair point mate. Would it make more sense if I changed the thread to greatest cruiserweight then?

Re: The Best Highflier of All Time
A lot of great highflyers mentioned here, it can be anyone one of Jeff Hardy, HBK, Snuka, Mysterio, Eddie or RVD.
For HOLY POOPIE?!?!?! moments it has to be Hardy.
On ground breaking moments then it has to be either HBK or Snuka who were 2 of the real mainstream pioneers.
For being consistently good you have to go RVD or Eddie.
And then for speed and precision it would be Rey.
I guess it all depends on what kind of style you prefer.

Re: The Best Highflier of All Time
Rey is massively overrated, RVD for me because he had such a unique repetoire of moves and is on another level compared to Rey

For North American Wrestling its Rey Mysterio.
Shawn Michaels and Eddie Guerrero very close after that.
