First topic message reminder :

Ashton: hair puller
can't tackle
has alot to say for himself.

Wood: quiet
hard working
sticks up for his team mates and puts himself in the heat of battle

One got sent off when the other stayed on but was it the right one?

Personally think if England relied on players like Wood rather than Ashton (despite his obvious talents) then we wouldn't be overpowered or intimidated and have a better attitude on the pitch.

Agree. He has a clear weakness but is still a very good paper.

Ronan O'Gara couldn't tackle a wet paper bag but has won multiple Heineken Cups, been on three Lions tours and has about 120 international caps.

No player is the complete package.

Yup i noticed that play...which is why i will always maintain his defence is attrocious........but that has been the case since he switched to union and so its nothing new...yet others are claiming that its only just been realised.

When you've had to put up recently with the likes of Cueto and Tindall...generally in there for their defensive ability.....its nice to see England focusing on a players attacking ability.....

People dislike him intensely...and do tend to highlight what he does as being worse than others..... thats their opinion. He shouldnt have done what he did....more daft than malicious....and hopefully he will grow out of these little things

Ashtons defence was attrocious in League too. The guy can't and won't tackle, that's just the way he is. At least O'Gara tries to tackle.

Geordie I disagree that what he does is daft rather than malious. Cheap shots are a big part of Rugby League and Ashton is a cheap shot merchant for sure. He knows exactly what he is doing.

He is a fantastic finisher and the support lines he runs are superb but to me he's a terrible sportsman and a horrible example to young kids.

Comfortably the biggest scumbag in English rugby is Delon Armitage IMO.

I don't like Ashton and he isn't a good role model but not on the level of Armitage. Tuilagi is another who needs to do a lot of growing up.

At least he manages to remeber to take his hands out of his pockets when he meets the Queen
