Never has the Australian Open been so unidirectionally and irreversibly projected towards a final between Ms Azarenka and Ms Sharapova.

Only Serena Williams could have prevented this outcome, if she wasn't irreversibly oriented towards a declining path as a tennis player and a very unlikely career as a fat and clumsy model.

Hoping Li Na wins on Sunday, although I like Clijster's, she won last year so I guess I want Li Na to win this year. It's a shame they have to play so soon. Never really liked Sharapova a whole lot. I guess the shrieking has a lot to do with it and I always end up supporting her opponent if I'm ever watching any part of her match.

If I had to pick from those 3 I'd go with Kvitova, Williams and then Azarenka, her shriek is just stupid.

If you look better you will find that: Williams nowadays prefers intensive shopping sessions to training, Kvitova is ultimatly an outsider and Azarenka, you know that, she'll choke.

As for Kvitova being an "outsider" do you mean as in an alien from the planet Zog or something? She doesn't shriek, spend ludicrous amounts on accessories and even manages to play half decent tennis. My kind of woman in other words, whatever planet she comes from.

If Kvitova plays her best the tournament is hers. One of the best ball strikers I've ever seen in the women's or men's game, phenomenal touch and ability to improvise, and a great serve. Which were all on display when she whooped Sharapova at Wimbledon.

Looks like the Czech Kvitova is going to win this tournament and change the face of the women's game forever with her brand of physically intense ball-bashing style of tennis which overpowers her opponents from the back of the court. In the future, it could mean that all the leading female players are all muscular in appearance, with slim players like the Wozniacki's and Ivanovic's being as extinct and as rare on the women's tennis circuit as wooden rackets were around the time of Wimbledon in 1985 when the defending champ John McEnroe was physically overpowered by a less talented but a much more powerful opponent in Kevin Curran in the quarter-final stage.

Not really fair, I mean maybe relative to Li she's a pusher (didn't see the match) but in general she goes for her shots. Aside from Kvitova who I haven't seen play either, I can't think of a player left with a better game.

When Cllijster is on form, she's probably the most offensive player in the WTA area, she rarely wait for more than 3, 4 shots before finishing off the rally. The fact she has been defensive against Li Na is partlly due to an ankle which prevented her from running around the ball quickly enough and to move forward to hit the winners.

A brave Lisicky did all she could, but in the end was overwhelmed by the superior class of her opponent.

Kvitova not playing well at the moment, she was all over the place in her last match. Nevertheless she's better than Sharapova in every department and it's the sort of match-up she likes. . . I'm leaning towards Azarenka to win the tournament based on present form.

In the end Sharapova had too much class for Kvitova.

Oh dear, Kvitova shouldn't be losing that sort of match-up. She hadn't looked great through most of the tournament.

Azarenka ought to take Sharapova apart but I'll probably not watch it due to noise levels.

Annoyed that Lisicki has to settle for a SF appearance again, she deserves a GS final pretty soon. I don't care who wins the final but would probably be more annoyed by the brash celebrations of Azzholerenka.

The heading reminds me of Borat, I can just see him saying, "Borat excited", especially at the prospect of watching a final between Azarenka and Sharapova with porno noises thrown in for the hard of wanking. That's one tennis match I will be giving a miss.

Knowing Polished Man, I 'd bet he will close his eyes to concentrate on the sound only.

I might watch it for a laugh. All the shrieking brings a smile to my face, you have something so bad and obviously wrong yet no one will do anything about it like so many things in life. Just listening to the commentators try to handle the issue can be pretty funny too.

Overall disappointing womens even for me, none of the 3 players I like made it. I still didn't get around to watching Kvitova play. Lisicki looked good in more ways than one, was hoping for her to beat Sharapova. As for who wins now, couldn't careless. Maybe slightly leaning towards Sharapova because although here shriek is horrendous, it's not as stupid as Azarenka's.

There's a feint hope for the woman's game that there will be sufficient negative reaction to this match that it will get through to the numbskulls in charge that mollycoddling their 'stars' is having a bad effect on the bottom line. I find watching matches with these players like trying to read in a library next to someone with a heavy cold when the constant noise of snuffling and so-on prevents you being able to concentrate at all.
