Willie Casey on TV

Hey folks, was a long time reader and infrequent poster on BBC 606 and having been browsing over v2 for a couple of weeks. Finally decided to register to let everybody know that Willie Casey's Super Bantamweight bout is on RTE2 tomorrow night... Channel 162 for those with Sky coverage starts at 10pm.... Sorry if this has already been covered but just thought some people might like to know.

I have sky but for some reason I don't have channel 162, is it just me or do I have to subscribe to it

As expected. I got some stick on the old 606 for saying how easy this was going to be for him. I thought Casey would make it to at least the 3rd though.

It didn't go well for Casey did it.

Embarrasing. Willie Casey is just a lucky fighter, winnin the European title against some Irish bum called paulie groans does not make you a real European champ.

Don't care how long willie trains, he's lucky he has a name by beating another bum.

I read this review on Boxingscene, where the pundit had stated 'Rigondeaux is the greatest amateur fighter of all time'. He then went on to give the fight to Casey by late stoppage. The greatest amateur fighter of all time, that'll be easy then.

I could see a stoppage at any time, but thought Casey could last until 6-7. In these contests its often more about power, how will Casey react if hit flush. He's not actually a bad little boxer, top 40 in the world and prizefighter champion. Still, the gulf in class was evident, Rigondeaux probably just decided to go out there and blast him away.
