"Big Poppa" Gary Spears from Kiss-FM recently spoke with Sting. Here are some highlights from the interview:


Wrestlers he'd like to face that he hasn't yet: "I'd have to say the top one... Undertaker. I think wrestling fans have wanted to see Sting vs. Undertaker for years. I think between his gimmick and mine, it could be pretty cool. We could do some pretty cool stuff."

If he regrets never going to WWE: "Yes and no. Who wouldn't want to say that they've done at least one WrestleMania? I'm not going to lie to you, I wish I had done one of those. I've had great conversations with him [Vince McMahon] over the years and been real close on three or four different occasions. There was always a need met or desire of mine met with WCW or with TNA, so I stayed."

The last time he almost jumped to WWE: "Last year... we were very, very close."

So, guess he was behind the original 21/2 promo's.

Wonder if he would have one little run?

He may still go just fine, but the problem is the Undertaker doesn't.

It has to happen next year I think, simply because Undie does not have that many Mania's left. And a match of this stature has to be a Mania match.

A lot depends on this years Mania match. The Undertaker has had a year off, so if he seems off the pace then it would be a clear indication that he maybe has one more left.

Another big problem, ends with a question. Would WWE/Undertaker allow a figurehead of two rival companies, past and present, take the streak?

Regardless, the match would be epic to see and IMO would mean a lot more than Cena v Rock.

I would say its too late as this should be takers last year but unfortunately it isn't special enough; taker vs hhh part III Headscratch so 1 final BIG match next year. I somehow doubt it would be sting though.

2 relics of a bygone age. A match between the 2 in this day in age would be terrible. 10 years ago maybe.

Its just destined to be one of those matchs that never were, like HBK vs The Rock.

Hasn't used it though since he accepted Dixie Carter's offer to run Impact...apart from a one-off tag match where he teamed up with Jeff Hardy (against Roode and Bully I think).

Anyway I think ol' Stinger probably isn't planning on putting on the warpaint again.

It looks like James Storm has realised where Sting's right hand is heading for and hopes to head him off at the pass, so to speak.
