Re: yes finally
Given that France have picked a kicking fly half, I think the back three will be getting plenty of ball regardless of whether we ever pass it out

Re: yes finally
Plenty off ball is one thing, deep ball running into a brick wall of a defence isn't good ball, and I think Sharples will probably try to run too much, I can see him being targeted.
Front foot attacking ball is where Sharples has a threat, and with Tuilagi at 13 that ain't going to happen.
Hope i'm wrong!

Look at it this way: There has been a question if he can cut it and be productive at this level. Now we will know. I have always had questions about his defence. But I have the same concerns about Strettle. Will be interesting.

Can only be a good thing to give these youngsters a go, are we going to win the 6N's? No. So we should be happy to give a few possibles a chance.

Can only bode well for the future. Just a shame it is Strettle he is replacing rather than Ashton who has been anonymous.

Yea Ashton seems to be living on a reputation at the moment, he owes Lancaster a massive game tomorrow. If he doesn't produce then i'd expect changes for Ireland.

Yeah why bother with an A team when we have the 6 nations....

I did say a few possibles, as in players like Sharples, Brown, Webber or Marler. But you go ahead and make witty comments Pete.

This would be true PSW if the A team had any meaningful games. It doesn't so fails to provide the requisite stepping stone from club to country. It's a problem that I hope the RFU do something about. For instance how big a squad are we taking to SA and is it going to be a proper old fashioned tour? Are there going to be midweek dirt-tracker games? If so, that would be perfect for trying out fringe players who are just outside of the first team who the management want to take a closer look at. If not then the powers that be need to start getting the A team some meaningful games pdq.
