Wales deserve NOTHING

Go down

Is it time for Rhys Webb & co to come of age or does Mike Phillips still have a future?

It doesn't matter if they lose by only a point or two or that they were "heroic" etc etc.

Wales did so many good things and had the option to win, but instead they made another ridiculous amount of self enforced stupid errors. They certainly have "potential", but they simply are not GOOD ENOUGH. To be "good enough" means you can play well most of the match, but also not crucify yourself with insanely daft errors.

Mike Phillips and Alun-wyn Jones seriously need to be reconsidered. You do not lose 3 restarts in a row against a top 3 team and expect to win.

How many times were Wales in an attacking position and give away a penalty unnecessarily. Wales lineout wasn't as diabolical as usual, hell they even managed to steal one! Mike Phillips knock on after a great lineout win was quite frankly disgusting.

Priestland had a good game again except for a poor restart and the most ridiculous attempt at a dropgoal I've ever seen. No reason for it. Could have attacked a bit more or waited for penalty.

POSITIVES:

Defence: Was good most of the game except Wales were very lucky that Australia made some simple errors where they would normally score tries.
Tipuric: Had a decent game and we didn't really suffer too much losing Warburton
Scrum: Only reason Wales stayed in the game

NEGATIVES:

Restarts: Terrible.
Where on earth are North and Cuthbert? Not being involved enouth means Wales won't see many tries.
Mike Phillps: Stupid mistakes, slow again and not willing to give more ball to the backs
Breakdown: Gifting points away all the time

Wales are famous for their backline play and are simply too slow and not involving them enough. By the time the ball gets to the backs they oppositions defence have regrouped.

Same mistakes over and over again. It shows their rugby knowledge isn't as good as we think and the coaching certainly isn't as effective as we may think.

What the rankings show us:

Simple. South Africa are the third best team in the world.

Wales are the best average team in the world. Wales will remain 4th in the rankings, but it doesn't really mean anything. Great for the grandslam, but can never build on it.
