Wimbledon Day 10
First topic message reminder :
Now it's really business time.
The matches have been previewed a done the order of play is out. Federer will be relieved to be on Centre and hoping for rain and a covered court. Murray too, as both stand to benefit if they win and their opponents have to play Thursday. I have no idea what the forecast is though.

Is Murray cunningly taking a leaf out the Djokovic "I'm totally exhausted, but only in between points" book?

Every single point is a struggle for Murray.
How can anyone enjoy watching this bambi on ice ?

I admire Djoko's tactical nous for employing (inventing?) this successful strategy. If it works, don't knock it.

You got me. I think it is more blind loyalty to country etc... he has nothin that makes me like his game attitude or even chances of winning.

Big big trouble. He's staring 2-0 in the face, and can he turn that round? Unlikely given how he looks physically.
I know Ferrer has made him run a lot, but why on earth is Murray knackered??
I thought he was fitter than this.

Re: Wimbledon Day 10
Looks like being a nice 3 setter for Ferrer..
Not sure whether it is a case of being tired...Murray just doesnt look like he wants to be their..
Everything Murray hits is coming back...Ferrer makes you work for every point and gives you nothing and Murray doesnt look like he wants to fight for the point.
Another Grand Slam down...12 Months ago I would have said that Murray will win a Grand Slam...now I dont think he can unless he takes this years US.
He wont have a better chance of at least a Wimbledon final than this year so to see him just blowing it is a real shame
There are moments though where some of his shot selection is just so passive....problem on a day like today is I dont think he can be more aggressive because he isn't particularly hitting the ball cleanly when he does.

Re: Wimbledon Day 10
It will dawn on people soon that Murray is a no hoper for a slam win... I am waiting for the penny to drop.... I have been waiting years though!
Murray breaks back; Ferrer doing his best to lose the sets every time he is serving it out.

Someone like Federer or Djokovic would crush this 2nd serve, it's simply substandard. Ferrer doesn't have an aggressive return though.

They'd also crush Andy and his defence play... and they do.

very lucky... Ferrer played far superior in that set. But neither of these 2 could beat tsonga or khol on this form... they don't have the serve.

Come on Murray, let's stick with the aggressive attitude now.
And Castle - please let the grown up's in the booth speak
Anyway, thanks Andy for giving me something to cheer about for the first time this match!

He's had patches of aggression, and then backed off
He's still hit far more winners than Ferrer.

I much prefer it when Murray places his serve rather than just trying to blast it
So much more effective. Wish he did it more.

Re: Wimbledon Day 10
Why is Murray under the illusion he can out-run or out-rally Ferrer? He is Duracell powered.
LegendKilla was too kind to question my judgement on Ferrer beating Murray simply because the court will start playing a bit clay(ish)
He might still have hope here though after winning set 2.

Murray's strategy of wearing himself off is not paying dividends for him. You have wear down your opponent.

I wonder if bogbrush is right - suddenly Ferrer looks a bit jaded and Murray rises, Lazarus-like, to take the third set.

Ferrer definitely slowing down a bit, whilst Murray has a second wind.
