First topic message reminder :

Hi all Very Happy

Due to upcoming holidays (and worried about missing the boat), I wonder if its worth starting a thread to express interest in participating in this coming season's 606v2 Fantasy Football League. (Mods - feel free to move, delete or merge this thread).

We probably have to accept that it's unlikely that we'll get 28 of us available at the same time to take part in the draft. Best thing to do IMO is set up a poll with two or three dates and times and we go with the one that most people can make.

Your both in my league, and that is set to be at 4pm UK time (11am EST)
It's the East league that appears to be at 9pm UK time.

I admit my past post was slightly confusing... I meant that the drafts are set in US time, but I have catered to the English timezone!

I used to love playing fantasy premier league, now just chosen my team for next season and it seems so incredibly boring compared to our NFL leagues.

No draft, no head to heads, just seems so boring!

Me and my friends play a draft based fantasy Premier League. We take it in turns at running it and it's mainly based on the Premier League fantasy game but obviously we only have one of each player.

We appear to have a full house of teams in the East league. Good stuff! Will get a draft order set ASAP. Have amended the draft time to 11am EDT, i.e. 4pm UK time on Sunday 2nd September. Not the best time for me and I'll likely find myself autopicking but if it suits the majority then happy to go with it.

I don't think anyone from the East League has objected to the 9pm UK time, think it's been people from the West. If you want to leave it at 9pm UK time, that's fine by me.

I would prefer a 9pm draft in the West. Ie after the keepers league draft. 4pm isn't ideal but isn't a great problem either if it remains.

I agree a 9pm time would be better for me too. 4pm wouldn't be too big an issue but I know for sure I'd be around at 9pm.

Have just set the East league draft order - was going to use the good old-fashioned method of writing names on bits of paper and have one of the kids draw them out at random but it turns out that the NFL website does it for you so no need! Anyway, without further ado, the East league draft order is as follows:-

1. Bradfords Steaming Rams

2. 2 Addai 4

3. Almost Perfect

4. Shepton Mallet Matadors

5. Beck4leagueMVP

6. All Of The Lights

7. Chicago Vultures

8. Raiders of the Lobbed Pass

9. The Traveling Medicine Show

10. Lowland Admirals

11. RG3's Super Socks

12. Second Hand Secondary

13. Second Hand Hereos

14. Rushden and Diamantis

This is a snake draft which, for the uninitiated, means that in the second round the whole order is reversed, i.e Rushden and Diamantis will pick first, Second Hand Heroes will pick second, Second Hand Secondary will pick third and so on. All the odd rounds will be in the order listed above and all the even rounds will be in the reverse order just described. Any questions, just give me a shout.

Yes first pick, only if i knew who to choose from would help, normally its AP but with his dodgy injury not willing to take the risk.

Would rather go for the 9pm start as might not be back from holiday at 4pm but will go with the flow

Sounds like 9pm might be better for the East league Number-25. Are you going to set up a seperate East League thread like the one for the West?

Does the draft order reverse round to round? 8th is a pretty ok spot if that is the case!

mid table is probably best i reckon, it can be a loooong wait if you're near the top or bottom

The 606v2 East & West have already now decided draft positions for 2012 ,so they are locked into there 14 teams
If we can raise at least 10 players to play,preferably 12 ,we can still set up an 606v2 Central league
I would run another side as will a few others

Looking at the guys who are regular posters, Derbyblue and Thomond are the 2 who don't appear to be in any of the leagues. If both of those guys are willing to play, then with niner that makes 3 teams, plus 2 teams from each of the east and west can join, makes 7. Then 5 with second teams. Personally I would prefer 12 team leagues so if possible this would be perfect

Evenin all

Just to address a few things from recent posts:-

Yeah, I'm gonna be doing an East league home page along the same format as Dave's. He's sent me his template so I just need to change the relevant bits to East league stuff..... I think! Will get it done over the weekend I'm sure. Last year the West league had way more comments on it than the East league so we'll need to sort that out this year so I'll be planning on trying to keep the chat going on it.

With regards the draft, I'm happy to change back to 9pm if that suits people. Could go 8.30 if that suits better cos from previous experience, it can go on for getting on for a couple of hours so maybe an 8.30 start would be better?

Also with regards the draft, yes the order reverses in the second round so if you pick 1st in round 1 then you'll be picking 14th in round 2 and then back to picking 1st in round 3. If you're picking 8th in round 1 then you'll be 7th in round 2 and then back to 8th in round 3 and it'll keep on alternating like that through to the end.

How long are we going to wait to make a decision on this 3rd league. As it stands with niner and Derbyblue saying they'll do it, we'll be needing 6 guys to take on a 2nd team. TM Moot and GB1919 have said they'll take a 2nd team. I'm assuming bambam will seeing as he suggested it?? Wink

That would leave another 3 to take a 2nd team. I could take one at a push but I already have 2 (this one and the keeper league one) and am managing the East league! Don't want to spread myself too thin but can do it if really needed to.

I will take a second team for sure, I normally play about 5 leagues, only have 3 at the moment so no problem!

Looking back at the thread, Forward Pass and mikeygnfl also said they would take 2nd teams. That makes 5 so far, we can always ask the "fantasy god" cherriesfan Wink

I don't know if you could amend the East & West leagues (probably too late?) then moved 2 new players from each league to the central (6 new + 6 2nd teams) and 3 divisions of 12??

Pretty sure that's the plan, so just needed to know whether you would still be ok taking a second team. We have niner and Derbyblue as 2 members, plus 4 from the existing east and west leagues, leaving 6 teams for owners taking a second team. We have 4 already, you would make 5 then just need one other

Guys been hellishly busy last month or so and no time to get up to date on this. What's the sit rep on the way the leagues being run this year? Bit pushed to go through 4 pages of posts...

We currently have 30 people who want to play, originally were going to keep to the East and West leagues from last year with 14 teams each, now are attempting to get to 36 teams, with some people taking second teams to make 3 12 team leagues, East, West and Central.

Looking at Forward Pass' post, we need 2 more people to take a second team to complete the Central league

Just to add to what bambam had already said, you had obviously indicated on one of the other threads that you were still up for it this year so we assumed that was still the case. You're still in the same league as last year, i.e. the East league...... although you might wanna change your team name Wink

Right now I'm royally confused?

1) Skins4ever is already in the 606v2 East because he has stated an interest in the past.

2) When did we agree that the current leagues (East and West) are going down to 12 teams?

With all due respect to Niner who has posted a fair bit on this thread over the past couple of years and was active in the leagues last year...

We are essentially suggesting moving away from 2x14 team leagues, for which there has been a sign up thread running for about 3-4 weeks which after that time produced precisely the required number of people required for 2x14 leagues and has since had invites sent out, places subsequently filled, draft orders and date set.

Didn't you say earlier in the thread that you would prefer 12 team leagues? If niner and Derbyblue want to join (both regular posters) then I say that we should try to accomodate them.

The easiest way to do so is to take the East and West down to 12 teams each, then have others run second teams. I wouldn't think that taking 2 teams out of each league and leaving the rest of the draft order as it is will cause too much of an issue, likewise the draft dates can stay as they are.

If anything, 2 teams moving from each league to the central can accomodate those who can't make the current time for the east and west drafts

it's just a question of whether enough people are prepared to make up a new league to form the Central
So derby & niner are in a league
To be fair you can have a league with only 8 just add 1 or 2 extra flex positions

Yes I prefer 12 teams and I said if we we get a flood of the old guys or new guys then we should make the change... however one person is not a flood of people (Derby expressed an interest only after the post suggesting the need for a central division).
Now whilst I clearly appreciate that Niner deserves to be in a league because he is a regular and writes some good stuff (particularly the string of college player interviews) and therefore I can see why the Central division should exist in some form - I'm concerned we are disrupting the two existing leagues to create a league full of repeat teams

Could we not do something like add two teams to the keeper league to make that 14 teams as well, namely Derby and Niner and sort it out that way?

I don't mind forgetting about the other league. I'll probably fail miserably again anyway. My own fault for ignoring the thread for ages. Hadn't visited it in so long, that even when I saw some new comments the last few weeks, just bypassed it because I forgot the season was so close.

14 in East & West ..12 in the keeper

If people then want an extra league for 2nd or 3rd teams then as long as someone runs it there's no problem

It's all gone a little quiet here since Saturday's flurry of posts re league reconstruction! We just sticking with the 2 leagues that we currently have?

I know a lot of people have a preference for 12 teams over 14 teams but having been involved in both in the past, I really enjoyed the 14 team one. It was a bit more challenging than the 12 team one - really have to do your homework to find that hidden gem during the season that can turn things around for you. Much more satisfying when you find that under the radar guy that goes on to be a star.
