First topic message reminder :

Hi all Very Happy

Due to upcoming holidays (and worried about missing the boat), I wonder if its worth starting a thread to express interest in participating in this coming season's 606v2 Fantasy Football League. (Mods - feel free to move, delete or merge this thread).

i reckon we're nearly at 28 players by now, I can't see us having leagues of 12 unless can get a few more players and go for 3 divisions

Hmmm, might be a bit of a stretch trying to get 36 of us involved. At the moment there are 5 new entrants waiting in the wings. There will definitely be 2 spaces up for grabs with the teams that no-one took control of in the end. Assuming everyone else re-joins (probably unlikely), that would leave us still looking for 9 more to get to 36.

Are there any advantages to 12 in a league over 14 that I can't think of?

Yeah probably too many people then .. 14 teams makes it more challenging, I remember we were really scraping the barrel for running backs at the end of the year

That's right, I'd forgotten about that! I missed our draft last year due to being stuck between broadband providers and spent the entire season in waiverwire hell as I tried to build some kind of half decent roster. Decent RBs were almost impossible to find. To add to my misery, I was also given Peyton Manning in my autodraft....

12 teams rather than 14 certainly makes it a bit easier to improve your team via waivers throughout the season.

Yep, I'm up for managing the East league. I'll look to get a draft order done as soon as poss so that the keen beans amongst you can get busy with your mock drafts!!

Looks like we're just waiting on confirmation of participation from 5 of last year's guys - Arizona Tom, Grizzly, niner, The BrownTown and sgb. Am aware it's holiday season so we should allow for that and give them a chance to show their hand. Am also aware though that we now have 7 other guys who want in. How long should we wait? Season is still a few weeks away - give it another couple of weeks? Is that too long? Too short?

Would be good to involve as many as possible so if we could drum up a few more names then we might be able to start looking at 3 leagues of 12. I wouldn't mind running two teams in different leagues if it came to that.

Thoughts?

In terms of confirmations, I fully expect Niner to be in the leagues as he has been pretty active (versus the rest of us!) this off season.
Who knows about the others but I don think we should wait slightly longer because of the holiday season... the drafts wont likely be scheduled until late August anyway so that preseason is partly done.

I quite liked the challenge of 14 teams in a league last year, however the sub divisions were unbalanced which wasn't wonderful. 12 teams is the perfect number in my opinion and as I have been updating the list I have been pondering the addition of a 606v2 Central league.

I think we will be able to get there. We may need to do a quick drawing to allocate second teams to a couple of people who have done it before if we still have slots to fill.

Nothing as of yet. We need to give a chance to those who may be on holiday or not yet paying full attention to the NFL.
After that we can fill up the gaps in the current leagues and as it stands creating a third league looks likely.

Your on the waiting list, near the top so you'll definitely be in somewhere Smile

Keep an eye out, but I imagine we shall be doing league entries by PM to stop random extras joining like I suspect happened with the inactive teams last year

I think we ruled out Dynasty & IDP

So while still giving last years outstanding players a bit more time [Only niner is active at the moment but Brown town & Grizzly might yet come back ]

Having said that, I'm not sure how this would work in practice. Does that mean all those who want to be in a keeper league would need to be put in the same division. Or, does it mean that we would be stuck with a bunch of players from the teams we had last year - I'm less keen on that - my team was rotten except for McCoy and Cruz!

I reckon we would have to start a new separate league, and then use the keeper format going on from there. We will probably be divided equally between the old East and West, so can't really do it based on those teams

Agree with that ,I think if we do a keeper league it would have to be started from scratch as an extra league
Would mean everyone involved would have to play in 2 leagues [East/West/Central + keeper league]
I would only want about 2 or 3 keepers though

In a keeper league there is a set number of players you can keep from being redrafted for season 2. Sort of like having multiple franchise tags.
