the above comment was something to do with a comment I made. But I dont get the '#' bit - what does it mean in twitter terms?

if you place a # before a phrase or word it means it's something that's 'trending' on twitter, that more than one person is talking about it I think. Like when the beeb put live text commentary up they ask you to tweet #bbcwhatever and they can then pick up your comments. Something like that anyway.

By placing a # before the phrase it links the tweet to any other with the same hashtag so you can see what is being said about the same thing by others.

For example,Albion fans have been using #scharnerfacts in honour of Paul Scharner,if you click or search #scharnerfacts you see them all.

If you hashtag something # then it becomes a topic and is more easily followed. So for example #thankyouedge is currently 2nd in the world for trending (trending is the most poplar topics).

dave - the joke was that KB pulled me up on my spelling of Gilmore but then posted an article with heavywieght in the title! Thats why we were spelling it wrong.
