Important End of Season information -- please read

STAR PLAYER BIDS ARE OPEN

Star Player bids will commence Wednesday (15th), and run to Friday (17th) at midnight, when bidding is closed. Who got who will be posted on Saturday all being well - and assuming it can't be done earlier. If you miss out initially, there will be a second round bidding process and you may make another bid on a player. All bids will be sealed and PM'd to Hero and sodhat. It should be made clear that you cannot make a big bid on a Star Player, and then not have the cash all at once. All money must be paid immediately, or you miss out. We aren't doing IOU's on it, and that applies to everyone.

To qualify for the second round you must have submitted a first round bid - you can't just wait and see what's left. If there are exceptional circumstances as to why you missed the deadline you may appeal to the runners, but these circumstances absolutely do not include "I was playing Ultimate Team for 4 days with the curtains closed."

Star Player Round 2 results:

Afro - Lavezzi 31.5m
Nando – Dani Alves 37m
Elmo - Lavezzi 31.8m
Bull - Iker Casillas 32m

Afro once again misses out. Though it does mean he gets to buy whoever is left (is there anyone? Nani???) at cost price.

May be worth a punt as Aguero has a slight knock. Means he'll at least get a chance in the next few games.

It's better than the other two options anyway...

Why has Bull wasted 32m on a goalkeeper when there are perfectly good ones available that people have lawyered. Neuer is one of them I think.

I thought spending £20m on Hart was excessive Shocked

I think he just wanted an easier one to spell than Stekelenburg. Every time he typed it it came out differently.

I'll never forget when it was Stunkberg.

Think it's to do with the US doping agency having built a case against him based on witnesses and such. Probably got to the point where he could fight it no longer and he didn't want to lose face with past team mates telling tales. At least this way he can always say he was never guilty and it's unjust and all that.

Either way I don't think there was too much merit chasing him. The whole thing was riddled with cheats, at least he used his rep and profile to do something positive and give to others.

He is pulling out because a lot of his ex teammates are testifying against him. Back in those days the drug tests were nowhere near as good as today, so you could find ways round them, and Armstrong in my opinion by pulling out of this has pretty much said he is guilty. EPO the drug in question, was used in his cancer treatment, and the three doctors who treated him were banned from cycling for supplying the drug. If Armstrong wanted to prove himself innocent, he should go to court, cos if he is definately innocent, any lawyer worth there salt could take apart the case. If he was innocent, but by this I think he is all but admitting he is guilty

If that is not the case then I cannot fathom out why he is giving up. After all he fought off cancer so a court case can't be such a big challenge.

This quote pretty much sums up what is going on and my echoes my views on the Lance matter.

If he went to court with the case, and the US Doping Agency had no evidence he had doped, then he would be able to clear his name. But the fact he won't is a bit iffy to me, makes me think they do have the evidence

Look all I am saying is that if he is definately innocent, I can't believe he is giving up the fight after all he has been through. If he is definately innocent, he could hire top flight lawyers and go to court to take the US Anti Doping Agency and those 10 guys to court, and rip them to shreds. It just puts doubts in your mind.
