Re: US Open Day 5
Let's hope A-Rod can delay his departure by beating Tomic. Robson must come out swinging and try to upset Na Li, but I doubt she'll win. (Mind you, I didn't think she would beat Kim C, either).
Del Po and Tipsy have tricky home-town boy match ups, with probably Baker the more likely to pull off an upset than Harrison. Gawd knows which way the Baggy-Dolgo match will go (five-setter?).

Re: US Open Day 5
I think Baker might beat Tipsarevic seeing as Tipsy had to come from 2 sets down the other day.
Dolgopolov might either be the best match ever or worst match ever. 2 great players on their day, but also very mercurial. Very evenly matched too, perhaps Dolgy will shade it.

Re: US Open Day 5
Matches that I could certainly see upsets in would be Del Potro V Harrison, Tipsarevic V Baker and Robson V Li Na. If Robson could pull off the win then who knows how deep she could go in the tournament? It will be a big ask though for her to repeat her performance of the other day.

Robson gets an early break, Li Na sounding a bit ratty.

Robson gets the break back, but a break's not a break until you hold (unless you break to win the set/match).

Laura does hold, at the very least she will serve for the 1st set. 5-2 with Li to serve.

oh dear, two DFs and Robson gifts the game away. Looks like tricky conditions out there, both players struggling.

Re: US Open Day 5
So far loving the action in the US Open we have seen some great five setters. Cilic losing a two set lead and winning it, Fish being down two sets coming back and winnin.g I wish they would show the gulbis match. Is this the tournament that Gulbis puts together a big run? Very good matches so far despite some believing that this tourney is not the same without Rafa there has been a lot of close matches and exciting play so far. A lot of 5 set comebacks from behind.

My only fear with Robson is that this might be a Melanie Oudin-esuqe run.

Re: US Open Day 5
The young Americans have fared pretty well, Sock I really like his potential I think he has more weight off shot than Harrison, but Harrison is a better mover and more varied. Jimmy Blake putting together some nice wins for the old guys. Lets hope Andy gets a couple of more wins in the USO as well even I can't begrudge Roddick a nice farewell. So far good early round performance by the Americans and maybe the cupboard isn't completely bare for US tennis.

Re: US Open Day 5
She has kept her composure very well when put in awkward positions. Considering she is only 18 she is showing great maturity and if she can maintain this level I think she has a great chance of winning this match. That opinion may waver if Li Na wins this set though.

Have to say that the line judges have been pretty awful in this match. Use Hawkeye Robbo!

Well Li Na took that second set on the tie-break and leads 1-0 in the third set. Can Robson dig deep again?

Re: US Open Day 5
Laura Robson doing wonderfully to control her emotions. A ridiculous call that denied her a break point, she shrugs it off and goes on to break anyway to lead 3-2 in the final set.

Re: US Open Day 5
The American line judges are the biggest useless sacks of crap I have seen on a tennis court. The chair umpire also is crap. Shouldn't be allowed on a tennis court ever again!
