Old 606

First topic message reminder :

I first discovered 606 golf on the BBC site in 2008, probably years after most of you. As a place for sporting banter twas hard to beat. There were some memorable posters: 150tothepin, GJ the aussie stud, tigerwoodswannabe, kirkygolfer and subpar to name but a few. And some awesome discussions too.

Have any of these guys shown up around here?

Yes he was a fireman. I think he split from his missus and faded out here. He was a good guy

I remember many of us sponsoring his efforts in marathons in support of a friend of his.
Think he was quite touched by all the support from 606, then he announced that he was off to fireman's training and that was his lot.

Only since joining here kwini, i registered on the old site around ryder cup 2008 but prob posted less than 10 times over about a month. My username was 'gus_chiggins', i mostly just checked in to read the articles. The idea of a golf discussion board was a real novelty at the time, and quite addictive in a boring workplace.
