+4 bowlers

1: Who would captain the team?
2: Who would bowl the 4 super overs?
3: most importantly, who would keep wicket????

I think the bowlers should be wicket keepers as well. Dhoni could open the attack. I suggest Mark Boucher could partner him - he has an impressive test bowling average of 6....

I'm sure there must be a few other keepers who have turned their arm from time to time .... For example, Wiki suggests that Alec Stewart took 3 first class wickets at a useful average of just over 148. He also bowled 20 deliveries in test matches, so he would be fairly experienced.

Alan Knott took 2 first class wickets.... Smile

What about AB de villiers great player and is keeping wicket currently for RCB.

Out of that team I'd have
1 MS dohni
2 Mark boucher
3 Kumar sangakaara.

In the early 1970s Warwickshire often had three test wicket keepers in their side:

Deryck Murray - regular keeper for Warwicks and also the West Indies at that time;

Rohan Kanhai - magnificent number three batsman who started out as a batsman / keeper and made his test debut in that role for the West Indies in the late 1950s; and

Alan Christopher (always known as AC) Smith - who played a few tests as keeper for England in the early 1960s but bizarrely alternated throughout most of the sixties for Warwickshire as a keeper and fast-medium bowler, even taking a hat trick in one CC match. He gave up keeping for good when Warwicks signed Murray and concentrated solely thereafter on his bowling.

Even more bizarrely, Murray was injured during one match and couldn't continue behind the stumps. As Smith was bowling and Kanhai had long given up the gloves, John Jameson (Warwicks and too briefly England opening bat) took over as keeper! Rolling Eyes

Thanks, Mr Scotland. Please don't tell Corporal but I was actually brought up in the Midlands and spent my early years watching Warwicks before heading south thirty odd years ago ....

Guildford - but at least you saw the light. In fact have to confess that I have never lived in Surrey myself - just supported them from when I was 0.5 Harry Pilling sized.... I can at least claim to live perhaps 15 miles from the border with Surrey.....

Fascinating bit of Warks history! John Jameson presumably chosen as backup keeper on account of the amount of back up if he missed with his gloves? Smile

Corporal - your reference to pint sized Harry Pilling just about reminds me of an old story concerning the Lancs batsman.

'Howzat', yelled the fast bowler as Harry was struck on the pads.
'Not out', came the umpire's reply.
'Why not?', demanded the perplexed bowler.
'Too high', responded the umpire.
'Too high!', exclaimed the bowler, 'If it had struck him on the b****y head, it wouldn't have been too high!'.
