I am not try to stir any thing up here. But the Lions tour is not for another 7/8 months now.

So what (EXACTLY) Is he doing right now.

Is he personaly organising the Hotels, Training facilities.

Or is he simply going around looking at various players to see who is good enough for selection?

I cant speak for Gatland, but Geech spent a lot of time in the run up to 2009 and 1997 in south africa, ensuring that he knew south african rugby like the back of his hand.

Right now, he is bored in his hotel so has just dismantled his Corby trouser press. After that, he's going to dress up as a zombie with his shower cap and curtain and complimentary biscuits as skin. Tomorrow, he is off for a walk along the dual carriageway to buy twelve bottles of windscreen washer fluid.
