Munster v Racing - Page 3 Empty Munster v Racing

Post by BlueMuff Sat 19 Jan 2013, 9:37 pm

First topic message reminder :

Well it comes down to the wire as it always does with Munster. The heart is still pounding after watching the Leinster Chiefs match. A complete roller coaster where it looked like Leinster would score a bucket loads of tries but in fairness somehow dug in and really put it up to Leinster right up until the end. Credit and respect.

Chiefs are my favourite non Irish team Very Happy

Now its over to Munster. BP win all but guarantees QF spot (barring mad result in Tigers match) and in the process knock Leinster out. If we cant get this BP we have no place in the QFs. If we do, the young talent we have coming through can only benefit from playing at this top level.

So there you have it no pressure them.

COME ON MUNSTER - TO THE BRAVE AND THE FAITHFUL

Heaslip was good yesterday in fairness, and is still a top quality 8. My stream has gone to cr*p, picture gone, and just have Frankie talking cr*p, might regret getting up so early if it doesn't resolve itself.

Not through yet Bill, Toulouse have to get less than two points against Leicester to see us through

A knee to the head was the red card, had to go for me, regardless of it being fairly "soft" like last week and ROG worthy of a card.

I'm sorry but it is a disgrace that Frankie is employed as a rugby commentator, and not just because of his conflict of interest, but because he is a clueless idiot.

Botha should not be allowed to carry ball.

Have Racing been as we thought they would be... pathetic?!

What a shame that certain teams are going to miss out because of the joke that is french rugby at times!!!

Fair play Munster, but hard luck to Leinster also!

Irish rugby has a bright future to be honest. In certain positions we have real stars. Zebo and Gilroy especially are going to be huge, the potential that these two guys have as the irish wingers is unreal.

That sounds like bad play that you rightly highlight, but as a winger Zebo is in primarily as a finisher whereas Earls is being shoehorned into a playmaker role. You expect your centre to have more game awareness than your winger.

Although really we should expect that right across the backline, but anyway...

The thing is, if I was to blame him, awareness isn't the problem with Earls, he saw Zebo supporting him, he just chose not to use him.

Thats kind of worse. You really don't want greedy players.

If Munster get 6 they are 100% there. leicester could well win but will not be a try fest.

Zebo is a class act. Cementing his place in the 23 and probably starting spot. As for dropping Heaslip. He has been excellent the last month and is captain. I have seen no evidence that SOB is a better number 8 than him

As for Racing been a disgrace bit harsh they certainly have not been a credit to the competition.

No, saying Racing are a joke is being a little bitter but i suspect you knew that. I can understand your frustration but Munster are playing well without ROG and Racing cant help that they were reduced to 14 men by what i see as an extremely harsh decision.

It depends if it was greedy or if it was just being pragmatic. I get angry at Cave sometimes for taking the ball into contact when there are players out wide, but they do it for a reason, sometimes its the better option to recycle the ball and continue building pressure.

I believe that with that try, Zebo may have secured himself free pizza in a particular domino's in Limerick for life.

I remember when I said Zebo deserved to go ahead of Gilroy on the tour last summer and was berated, Zebo would never be a a star I was told, too many chinks and issues.

I remember the discussion Thomond, but I certainly do not remember anybody saying that. At that time people (including me) believed that Gilroy was the better player. However, for now at least, it is the other way around. They are different kind of players though.

Anyone else think Murray has improved a great deal this season? His speed to the rucks and a really quick pass without a step. Has Stringer been doing a little bit of coaching with him?

He is a great player but for some reason I do not like Peter O'Mahoney.

What ever about starting backrow between the 4 of them, we have definitely got a great player on the bench who can make an impact

You were making it out that playing this well without Radge was a great thing, or at least that's what I got out of it, apologies if I got the wrong end of the stick
.

Rory a lot of people said he had massive problems that weren't fixable, I have been watching the kid since his Pres days, he has got it.

I'm going to reiterate my point that ROG was a product of a great pack, thank Christ Sin isn't here though

Zebo had a lot of problems with concentration earlier in his career, but some people I know in Munster say that since he finally decided he wanted to be a pro he has got his act together in a serious manner.
