First topic message reminder :

Malta v Northern Ireland (18:30)
England v Brazil (19:30)
Republic of Ireland v Poland (19:45)
Scotland v Estonia (19:45)
Wales v Austria (19:45)

Ashley Cole to get his 100th cap, Gordan Strachan's first game in charge as Scotland manager, and England to beat Brazil in the FA's 150th year. My prediction:

England 1-0 Brazil (Walcott)

I think they will get a harder game against montenegro.

Brazil were poor all over the pitch - they are just a name now.

Brazil are not what they use to be, however there squad is still better than ours IMO. So a 2-1 win with a fairly decent performance gives us plenty to be positive about.

Jack Whilshire and Theo Walcott both put in tremendous performances.

Wasn't that nice? Cracking result, kept the ball well, had a lot of chances and were well worth the win. Hart was immense, Walcott worried the Brazilians all night, Rooney did very well as a central striker, Wilshere dominated the centre of midfield with some great passing, and the defence was good apart from Cahill's lapse of judgement. Well played England. clap

I think we're going to win it, I really do. Roy Hodgson is shaping up to be the best England manager since Bobby Robson. England right now are massively underrated. (By everyone apart from me you understand!)

Another solid result for Belgium, 2-1 vs Slovakia. Hazard scored a penalty but the really pleasing one was a goal for Dries Mertens, who has been one of our better players in the last 12months.

Well first off ALL teams care when they play. Some of those Slovakian players were trying to make a name for themselves, to get into future squads. But I'd take more heart from Belgium beating that Slovakia team 2-1 than from that England team beating that Brazil team 2-1.

Why? I'd have fully expected England to beat such a poor Brazil team, and while I'd also expect Belgium to beat Slovakia, if I had £50 to put on one team winning, it would have been England.

Why do you allways emphasize the other teams(v england) with negatives?

BTW my post was just a joke- I was Mimicing you. The whistle should have given you a clue. Hug

Once is hardly 'always' is it? I know we're having fun, both teams had solid wins, until qualifiers get underway again there's no way of knowing if the two games had any impact at all.

Tell you what though, Brazil were very poor, yet it took two open goal misses from Neymar to spare England's blushes Whistle

he made a good save from as tame a penalty decision you could ever give..

Add to that a blatant pen wasnt award to england..

England outplayed brazil from the middle.. Deserved win.

Time to Move on to the important games and its good bit of confidence- great to see that wilshire was moved on without even playing..

That penalty wasn't tame, it was stonewall. Wilshere did jazz hands to stop the ball. Hart's save was pretty poor, but the follow up save was world class.

Still can't believe Wilshere only has 7 caps. What a loss the last 15 months have been!

it was very tame.. because it was on the edge of the box- with no real goal threat and could be seen as ball to hand

I have no problem it being given however IMO its a TAME penalty. Not a incorrect decision but a TAME one!!

See I disagree, Wilshere sees the cross coming in, turns his body, and deliberately sticks his massive hands out. It was pretty stonewall for me.

Stuart Pearce against Switzerland at Euro 96 was a tame penalty. Ball to hand, wasn't even looking at the ball. At least Wilshere's was deliberate.

Ronaldinho looked thoroughly embarrassed by the 100 caps thing - I didn't realise he only had 94 before last night, poor bloke Laugh

A main difference between South american players and english players..

Look at cole and his hair cut and his smooth skin and diamond earring.

Poor old Ronaldihio with that born chipmunk look..
