The way he could switch between praising someone and tearing them to pieces seconds later was unbelievable. Best colour man of all time for me, by a long long way.

Royal Rumble 92. Virgil enters the rumble.

Heenan : Virgil at one time had that Million Dollar Championship. Of course he stole it, but he still had it.
Monsoon : he did not!

Minutes later......

Heenan : Virgil entered the rumble at number 23 right?
Monsoon : yeah
Heenan : who knows how many bags he's been through in the back.

My favourite Bobby Heenan quote came during the classic IC title match between Mr. Perfect and Bret Hart at Summerslam 91. Perfect gets a near fall and argues over it with the referee:

Bobby Heenan - "Wait a minute Perfect! Don't touch that ref!"

Gorilla Monsoon - "Why? A disqualification means he keeps the title".

Bobby Heenan - "Okay then nail him!"

Bobby Heenan commenting on Hogan's entrance music:

Heenan: That's my second favorite song.
Monsoon: I'm almost afraid to ask. What's your favorite?
Heenan: All the rest are tied.

Remember when the wwf were over in sheffield.

They were talking about soccer (to them).

Monsoon " the main teams here are Sheffield United & Sheffield Wednesday".
Heenan, " Sheffied Wednesday............... they got a team on thursday".

i remember during the Macho man/ Elizabeth wedding Hennan calling the flower girls litterbugs lol

Some classics there.

Do remember during the informous nWo debut when Hogan came out. Hennan almost gave the game away by shouting "which side is he on"

Could a character like heenan be involved at all in today's wwe? The reason I ask that is some of his remarks were very close to the mark at times so would they be acceptable today?

I loved him in the rumble where flair won it, he really made that rumble extra special.

I don't see why not. Heenan operated when the WWF was PG. None of his comments included swearing or sexual references, he just had a razor sharp wit.
