More Matchroom magic?

Eddie Hearn announced imminent "new signings" on Twitter last night, but not who. All got a bit cryptic, but, having tried to piece together all the tweets/retweets/responses etc I think it may be none other than - Mr David Haye!

Anyone else heard this rumour? Would tie in neatly with Haye's supposed comeback.

Also, more good moves from Hearn/Matchroom, having got Groves a quick fight following his switch to Matchroom, and on the undercard to Froch-Kessler on May 25th, he's just done a little deal with Sauerland to get Groves another tune-up 8 rounder on a Sauerland undercard this Saturday.

I do like a fighter that travels and Groves, in his 18 fighter career (incl this Sat), will have fought in California, Vegas and Germany twice.

If it is Haye it means ppv.

Was the Chisora fight PPV?

Given the stacked card Matchroom can put on I'd buy a PPV with Haye headlining and Bellew, Frampton, Groves, Barker, Yafai etc undercard.

Does Haye definitely mean PPV? Maybe not straight away. Haye vs Povetkin/Arreola/Adamek are all good fights but might not pull in the casuals, especially after the Wlad and Audey disasters.

One or two fights first then a PPV would make sense.

Either way, I like Haye and hope he's back on Sky soon.

Does this mean Haye's plans to be the next Denziil Washington have been put on hold ?

The Chisora fight was awful coverage and the corny bit at the end with the fighters, trainers and Warren all standing with their arms around eachother to "God Save the Queen"

No glamour at all.

Get the big bright lights of Sky, I can't see PPV straight away. His first fight will be on SS1, leading to a Vitali fight next on PPV maybe

With Matchroom's ever growing stable surely they're going to need more slots. They must be on the verge of being able to provide a decent card twice a month.

BN is more or less PPV. I can imagine Groves on a Haye card and probably Yafai. Too expensive to have a well stacked card with all the names you mentioned.

Being good mates with Froch might help smooth that over but yeah, you're almost certainly right.

Just that in my job unfortunately I meet a lot of top management and you realise how cut throat, self absorbed and pretty vile most of these people are.....They really would "Sell their own mother to make a deal"........

The only thing he has done is signed some very decent fighters to promote.

Look at Froch, Barker, Rees, Brook, McCloskey etc.... Fighting against the best in their divisions or other top fighters. To be the best, they must tae on the best. No point in hiding away on a micky mouse channel fighting journeymen or overmatched has-beens or never-was types.

When was the last time Warren, Maloney or Hennessy ever came close to securing their stable fights against the likes of Martinez, Bute, Broner, Alexander or Khan???

Not suggesting he isn't a good businessman...Dad taught him well.

I just like how he is getting the kind of fights that we screamed at the rooftops for when it comes to British fighters.

Warren has been slated for years for holding his fighters bac.

Well I think its great that Hearn hasn't as much cotton wool around his lads.

If they can't beat the best then at least he knows where their market it, whether it be by different routes....Euro, British etc

Never said he wasn't a fan..Just said I'm tired of reading it!!........

I'm just stating that I have to do Organizational studies for these type of "people" and in my experience most of them are pretty much self centred types who'd screw people over all day and everyday and not lose sleep...

I know what you said, just find it contradictory to say to someone that they shouldn't perhaps give hearn as much credit (or love as you put it) as he does unless they know him then you play him as some stereotype despite you not knowing him either

Hearn is getting a lot of credit for getting his fighters in the ring with top fighters. Peter Buckley fought a lot of good fighters over the years, didn't win many though..... Who's to say Warren couldn't have had Rees defending the Euro belt for the next 3 years earning decent money 3 times a year?

Well Rees is still heavily ranked and made a bit of a name for himself for being "brave" when fighting Broner. The US is where the money is within the lightweight division.

A Euro lightweight title fight mustn't be that lucrative or else Murray would never have been put in against Rios by Warren.
