Scotland's new kit - grand reveal at noon

Well today's the day ladies and gentlemen, Scotland's new home and away kits are going to be released, time to find out what Macron are really like. So figured we'll need a thread where we can come over all Gok Wang and critically asses the stylistic merits...

From the teaser images the SRU have shared on twitter we know that the home kit is the standard dark blue / navy and similarly the away is the traditional white. So hopefully the new kits will be decent and won't feature fools gold trim as was the case with our last home strip or neon yellow and red sleeves http://www.rbs6nations.com/images/galleries/73410834.jpg

If Macron produce something like the 2006 shirt or the 2010 shirt I'll be very happy...

I still think the Scott's should wear tartan.

Now what you haven't mentioned is that the kit has been designed by a member of the public! They ran a competition and the winner has seen their design become reality - we could end up with something very "interesting" if they have decided to reward creativity!

I love how a lot of these seem to have been done in art class by young children.

The Red Kite should have been called Kes and a video from the League of Gentlemen to release it.

I really am fearing the worst.

I'm strangely optimistic, the guy who designed it was at the least a graphic designer... perhaps it was all an elaborate PR stunt and they actually paid a guy to design it rather than choosing Leslie Law's erratic effort

  Robert Wightman's effort is astonishing in it's complete lack of the traditional colours and the fact it has an actual map of Scotland on the back

I quite like the Richard Gray one (big Richie?), the purple one isn't a complete disaster too.

Looks like a similar collar to the lions jersey but flatter to the neck and not as sticky uppy (is that a word?)

Judging by the snapshot of the woven badges that were leaked before, it's going to be exactly the same as the home one, except in white with the contrast panels and detailing in navy or purple.

I actually really like it, finally some sense. Classic kits are always the best. Might even be tempted to purchase this one - my 1990 replica jersey is getting snug.....

Anyone looked at the pictures on Facebook? Greig Laidlaw is wearing a random purple and blue one, no mention of what it s!

Maybe they've designed a special training top for players who are regularly mucked about and played out of position.....

Does Stuart Hogg have a silly purple and blue one as well.....

this picture seems to show a bit of faint detailing under the arms and the text mentions "The traditional thistle design that featured on the 1990 Grand Slam winning jersey will be subtly embossed on the back"

Some more pics from Facebook. I think that anything purple is the 7s kit or something from the training range. No way you'd make an away strip that's so close in colour to your home one. Budgie desperately needs a haircut.
