What have been your experiences?

I want to know if it'll be worthwhile - I'm out in the sticks and currently on Virgin which has for us been [ed very good excellent] so persuading Portnoyova to agree will be difficult. So I need to produce a convincing business plan.

Anyone know how you can get/if you can get BT sports abroad?

On SKY you can subscribe for mobile only and with the appropriate VPN this works fine, as does BBC but so far as I can see, without a perminent physical presence in UK it is going to be impossible to watch anything on BT sports.

Any ideas?

there's plenty of websites that will stream sports online and you don't need to join up or anything, just close a few annoying pop ups!

Freeloaders are thieves. Plus comments like that are conspiracy to cause theft.

Yep. I don't condone shoplifting either except in extreme need. But as Rugby nor any sport for that matter cannot be considered a life and death matter, I can't see it being any different.

you can get BT sports on mobile devices or streamed to your internet. however I guess it will be region protected, so you would have to do something wizzy.

Have you contacted BT and asked them? It might be that they can help you out, when I've called they've been very helpful.

Thanks for all the tips. I generally expect BT to say no you can't the same as SKY and BBC (rights restriction) but VPN gets round that. I am quite happy to pay for the service but so far I can only see it linked to a physical broadband service.

I will checkout virgin though, if this gives you BT Sport as well

Signed up to BT broadband / new router expected 24th September.
However, new BT Sports channels have already magically established on my Sony freeview TV ahead of the broadband swithchover. .TV is not connected to internet, so I have no idea how BT did that. Please let me know how that happened
So.. watched Quins game last night. Dreadful weather and rugby to match, but I was impressed with picture & BT coverage. Now looking fwd to Sarries v Glaws tomorrow.

Gregortree,
Be careful as BT Sport showed the Quins game for free but BT Sports 1 & 2 are still restricted on Freeview

Thanks Broadland Boy, I'm a newbie at this, as I never did payTV in past.
The BT broadband package (1 yr contract commitment) throws in BT Sport for free. I guess that may change for year 2 though.

Gregortree, you will get BT Sport 1&2 in your deal . I was just cautioning in case you dont get tomorrows game. They were showing last nights match for free to encourage more people to sign up. If you tune into BT Sport 1 or 2 today & get a picture you should be fine tomorrow. On Freeview BT Sport has 3 channels of which BT Sport seems to be an advert for BT Sport 1&2,which show the restricted sport

When (it seems) that footy and rugby overlap the half time review is dropped and the Premiership scores are scrolled. Mind you when the backdrop changes from Old Trafford to the Wreck you sort of see where the cash lies and where the commercial imperative is.
