Pacquiao is still a bigger name than anyone else at 140-154lbs so its still the biggest fight around. Mayweather v De La Hoya was a mismatch but it broke records likewise the Canelo fight.

it'd be a big fight a few years too late.
if manny can get himself back in contention with a couple of big wins it'd be a great fight.

there's no way that he punches harder than canelo though. but he is faster would throw some that floyd may not see.

Manny's the one guy who can penetrate Floyd's guard with something he won't see.  He can do it with an uppercut. And let's face it, it'll only take one shot. Right on the button.

Manny hasn't stopped anyone since Cotto in 2009, all his opponents since then have lasted the distance. His power is overrated and the chances of him stopping Floyd are slim.

A couple of years ago when Manny was at his best i think he had a great chance to beat Floyd i think his speed, power, angles and aggression would have been Floyds worst nightmare. Nowadays though Manny has taken his eye off the ball with politics, tax issues and 100 other things he will never be that fighter again and its hard to see him winning now.

Beat me to it Scott, 45 fights and never once off his feet and yet he has no chin. Dear god I am glad 606 was not around when Patterson was heavyweight champion, does not bear thinking about how he would have been described.

Herman, mayweather was hit flush and very hard by a renown punch her in Mosley.....twice. His legs buckled but he held on and cleared his head, then dominated. Wouldn't say he had a Poopie chin mate.

Margarito has one of if not THE best chin in years and was brutally smashed to prices by Mosley just one fight before.

Regardless of the fact it's 3 years too late, regardless that manny has lost two on the bounce ( given he was jobbed in 1 and looking quite good til getting sparked in the other), I still think it is the biggest fight out there.

Are his chances slim? Yep, but so are everyone's at that size. Does he have a name and a following? Yep. Does he have a better chance than Bradley, Garcia, Alexander, khan, jmm. In my opinion yes, unless the rios fight shows he's completely shot.

Sergio martinez at 154 was far more dangerous than Pacquiao ever was

Pacquiao could have caused him problems but he has struggled with boxers and if Mayweather can slow him down, a trait he has managed to do to almost all of his opponents barring the odd fight, and make him think then it'll be a landslide

People also underestimate Floyds power, he doesn't have one punch KO power and does have fragile hands, but there is a reason nobody has walked through him. He has enough power to stop you in your tracks and with his size and reach advantage he could bully Manny

Martinez on the other hand would have been a nightmare

The thing is if Pacquiao destroys Rios (very likely) and then goes on to beat the winner of Brdaley-JMM, and Floyd wipes the floor with any of Khan, garcia and Alexander, the fight becomes big again and will generate huge interest

Judging from last night, I actually think that Martinez would have been pretty routine for Floyd, albeit a little more difficult than some.

A fair amount of me still smiles as to what happened when Manny was laid out by Marquez from his 'fans'. Sooner he retires the better in my opinion, many a forum has even ruined by a country of people who worship someone that is beyond obsessive.

Yes but he didn't debate..........Just ignored questions and delivered propaganda all the time.. in the way of articles....His so called facts were often libellous and he was a one trick pony.....who was so obvious it was untrue !!

Every Mayweather opponent was past it but would get a new lease of life by the time he fought Manny...........
