What is happening with Price?

Has he got himself a new trainer yet? He probably wants a some time to reflect after his losses but hes no spring chick and cant afford to lie idle if he wants to get somewhere in the sport. He still has the domestic belts I believe? Surely a defence of those must be in order soon? Ive seen Chisora mentioned as a fight for him but I think that would be more trouble than Pricey can handle. Chisora would put the final nail in his coffin. But somebody like Sprott, Rogan or even Big Richard Towers?

I think Price should forget about world level and world title and aim smaller. He was exposed by Thompson and he is just too old to now to look at going back and starting all over aiming to be a world champion in a couple of years. I dont think he has the heart or mental and physical toughness to make it at world level anyway even amidst the dud heavyweights around now. But he could be feature on the domestic heavyweight scene and maybe make the jump to European level. With his power he is always likely to be a crowd pleaser and Liverpool is enjoying their boxing right now so he has an audience.

Az will probably tell you he's being chinny somewhere...

TBH I've no interest in ever watching a Sprott fight again, but Price vs Rogan could be at least entertaining, and a decent comeback fight for Price.

Thats a bit harsh but I couldn't resist it.

Price has skills and power. If he put it together he can get right back in the mix. A new promoter and trainer possibly? Maloney was milking him when he had nothing else.

He can easily make an impact at European level and earn some decent money. So I agree, a couple of fights with the lower echelon of named fighters in the UK and see what he can do from there. But he does have to get back on that horse this year in my opinion.

He should get a couple of quick easy domestic defences under his belt and target the haye v fury loser. Let's face it, it's likely fury. (That date has been confirmed for 8th of February, espn for anyone who hasn't heard).
A fury price fight would still sell, with the winner looking at a Del Boy fight. There would be good money to be made for all out of that domestic merry-go-round.

His confidence will need rebuilding thats for sure. But he needs to sort out alot of other problems. Hes not much more than a 3 round fighter with big question marks over his chin, his stamina and his heart. Time is not on his side so he needs to sort things out quickly and get back to boxing if he is to have any hope of making it beyond the domestic level.

Malik Scott might be an interesting one. Not much danger of being ko'd so working on his stamina will be key. Bouncing around like Pacquaio is no good for a bloke that size when its inevitable he wont sustain it.
It will be interesting to see where he goes as, with boxing being about levels, he's found his in losing to Thompson. The 2nd one must have been totally demoralising and may have ruined him mentally. We'll see though.

For a scouse he speaks well. Seeing as his future as a top class fighter will mainly involve being prostrate and gazing blindly at the ceiling he should consider a career in commentating.

He must be due a defence of his domestic title soon. He hasnt defended in about a year. Its a pretty sorry circuit but Sprott might be a decent comeback fight. He is still doing the rounds and giving some other pros a workout. Kevin Johnson might not be a bad opponent. He doesnt really throw any punches but should be able to take the fight into the late rounds and test Prices fitness. I wouldnt risk anything more than that for the time being.

He may move on to bigger and better things.

Most agree Pep did not actually do it in the first place so don't exhaust too much energy trying to work it out Union.

Nobodys told Johnson its not possible given the way he fights. Towers/Browne would be a good fight for Price. Both of them are pretty old but they will be ambitious and not consigned to journeyman status like most of the other domestic level heavyweights. Price should have a fight before defending against them.

I heard that he took out an Umbrella and a gust of wind took him flying off his feet, noone's heard from him since.

Just kidding, hope he comes back soon with a renewed focus.

I found an interesting interview with Price there. It sound like he is feeling a bit sorry for himself. The classic stories of all the bandwagoning friends leaving in a hurry when the good times end. He says he can come back. Can he? He needs to come out of hiding and get a new trainer and promoter asap.

I thought it might make a change from twenty pages of discussing if Chisora was in worse shape than Fury for their fight 3 years ago.

What is happening with Price? The guy keeps losing to Thompson thats whats happening

A third fight on the undercard of Kell Brook v Carson Jones 3 could be an option though to avenge his first 2 defeats?

After all Carl Froch has said that if you beat an opponent who has already beaten you...then the previous loss or losses dont count on your record

Price Is a fan favourite here. Just a few tweaks and he'll be a beast. Full of talent and great skills. Just don't say he's chinny, heartless or not that good. That is called wumming here. Say what you want about other hw boxers though. That is reasoned debate.

I doubt that would happen seeing as price makes fury look like wlad in comparison. Price would be too shared to throw a punch. Lets not forget than a green amateur in fury decked the experienced price.

And price got beat by a past it, fat 41 year old. It takes a degree of skill to land a punch. Price lacks that. Moreover a jab that grazes price's face or above his chest will finish him off.

Surely if Price lacks the skill to land a punch then surely he wouldn't have knocked so many guys out or put Thompson down in the last fight?

In the words of Bruce Lee "boards don't hit back". Thompson is past it so hardly a shock he caught him . Us when he had it he wasn't that good.
