matchroom new signing

according to eddie hearn on twitter matchroom are to announce a new signing on Thursday any ideas on who this could be?

At the Odyssey last time I checked.

David Price was under Maloney (on Boxnation) and stepped up.

Did he ?? Who did he step up against ??

He's better at long range....and susceptible to the body ...So I imagine he won't be fighting there anytime soon.....

Given maloney's retirement, presumably price will be eddie's latest coup.

Not sure about Price to Matchroom.

They've got a heavyweight project with Joshua and Price is seriously damaged goods right now.

Warren can feed him some cans and build his WBO ranking, build a rivalry with Chisora and maybe line them up for a title fight.

I was just putting 2 and 2 together rob, but it's not unusual for me get 5, when I do it.

Joshua is a long term heavyweight project tho, Price would be good for Eddie I think, a euro level big man can be entertaining on undercards to bellew , barker and Quigg who haven't had stoppage wins recently.

Derry deserves a fair bit of respect. Hearn has tried to feed him to a few of his boys and he belt getting the better of them. He's at his level though. A world title shot is a pipe dream.

Hearn seems to be screwing things up a lot with some of these fighters and jumping the gun. I read about the Jamie McDonnell thing and McDonnell was pretty much in the wrong. I think Hearn is trying to unsettle a lot of fighters which could cost them like it did McDonnell.

Very good call Strongy! Good for move for Price if he manages to pull it off. He needs regular 'testing' fights, and if he manages to come through those a big money clash with Joshua is on the cards.


Personally, and this is wishful thinking, I would love for Degale to sign up for Matchroom. His talent alone warrants regular airtime and hopefully Hearn can work with him to improve on the PR side of things.

Makes sense that if Price has lost Maloney and moved to Booth then the obvious step is to change promotor. Hearn may be rubbing a few up the wrong way (STRONGY) but he's astute/snake-like enough to know whether or not it's worth taking a punt on Price.

Im not sure what people mean when they say its in a shopping center. The fights are not and don't need to be on a big under card, hence why they dont need to be at a big venue. And while it may be "at a shopping center", its on live terrestrial TV. Admitedly he needs to be more active though. Doubt he will go to Matchroom, they seem to be getting pretty over crowded anyway, how much fighters can Eddy Hearn really focus on?

I'm absolutely delighted that the BBBofC have decided to halt Matchroom's attempt to monopolise British boxing.


I've said it before and it's been proven again that Eddie falls well short of his old man when it comes to grey matter. Eddie has been going around thinking he owns British boxing and he has an entitlement to do whatever he wants, It's fantastic that he's been given two fingers on this one.

It will only be temporary, when the board realise they're not getting any money they will soon change their tune.
