Richardt Strauss - Out for the season Empty Richardt Strauss - Out for the season

I realise this news is a few days old but thought it was worth mentioning none the less.

Leinster and Ireland hooker Richardt Strauss has been diagnosed with a heart condition and will be out of rugby at least for the remainder of the season. Full story below:

Mentioned elsewhere but bad news for Strauss, Leinster and Ireland. Hope he makes a full recovery.

Strange that they say he had this hole in his heart the whole time but it was only spotted on a routine scan.  Should previous routine scans not have picked it up.
Scary thing to have a doctor telling you there is something wrong with your heart.
Hopefully a speedy recovery.

Sounds quite similar to what happened to Lee Mears last year - he had a routine scan and found a scary defect. Let's hope Strauss fairs better and has a speedy recovery, he's a player I've always rated when watching Leinter in the HC
