Ulster vs Cardiff Blues
First topic message reminder :
Ulster; 15 Stuart Olding, 14 Andrew Trimble, 13 Jared Payne, 12 Luke Marshall, 11 Tommy Bowe, 10 Paddy Jackson, 9 Ruan Pienaar; 1 Callum Black 2 Rory Best, 3 Declan Fitzpatrick, 4 Johann Muller (c), 5 Dan Tuohy, 6 Robbie Diack, 7 Chris Henry, 8 Roger Wilson
Replacements: 16 Rob Herring, 17 Tom Court, 18 John Afoa, 19 Lewis Stevenson, 20 Mike McComish, 21 Paul Marshall, 22 Darren Cave, 23 Michael Allen
Cardiff Blues: 15 Leigh Halfpenny, 14 Richard Smith, 13 Cory Allen, 12 Dafydd Hewitt, 11 Harry Robinson, 10 Rhys Patchell, 9 Lloyd Williams; 1 Gethin Jenkins (c), 2 Marc Breeze, 3 Scott Andrews, 4 Bradley Davies, 5 Filo Paulo, 6 Josh Navidi, 7 Sam Warburton, 8 Robin Copeland.
Replacements: 16 Kristian Dacey, 17 Sam Hobbs, 18 Taufa'ao Filise, 19 Lou Reed, 20 Rory Watts-Jones, 21 Lewis Jones, 22 Gareth Davies, 23 Chris Czekaj
So just two changes for Ulster and a positional switch; Payne moves to centre instead of Cave, Olding comes in at fullback and Callum Black comes into the front row at loosehead. Ulster will be targeting a bonus point win as we look to claw our way back up the table but Blues will have renewed confidence after their European scalping of Toulon. Cardiff are without Cuthbert and Matthew Rees- Ulster are missing Craig Gilroy, Iain Henderson and Nick Williams.
Massive welcome back to Ravenhill for Filo Paulo

Re: Ulster vs Cardiff Blues
Copeland is a fantastic No.8. Apart from Connacht there isn't much room for him at the Irish Provincial teams is there?

Copeland having a great game. Don't know if he came back leinster or Munster would need him. We have Williams on an extended contract but next year Wilson will be 33. I'd be very happy to have him come in with an eye on being Wilsons replacement. He's played 6 for Cardiff before also.

Re: Ulster vs Cardiff Blues
Anyone know which part of Ireland he's from? He seemed to really slip under the radar then make a name for himself with Blues.

The difference between this week and last is that Gethin and Davies are not all over the place, and Bourrust isn't in the 22!

Re: Ulster vs Cardiff Blues
Copeland yello
Payne and Olding are sheer class. Seemples.
Ulster need to maintain this intensity for the next fifteen minutes and wrap this up, then feet can come off the gas like they did in the first half.
Copeland a bit daft there but hey, you have to give it a lash, illegal or not.

Davy Irwin seemed to think that put in wasn't straight methinks!
Especially impressive since he called it before the ball went in at all!!

Re: Ulster vs Cardiff Blues
Copeland came from Leinster acamady, think moving when younger has served him well. If he had stayed would doubt he has half the experience he has now. However I think his Cardiff contact expires either end ofbthisbseason or next, I expect he'll be looking to return then to push his international case.

Horrendous kick from Patchell
Think we should just start running everything now, we are just kicking away all our possession

If the Blues had started with Filise then they would have a LBP at least from this match

If Ulster had have gotten out of second gear then a LBP would be but a pipe dream
