Was there at St Mary's watching this.

Good report and Milner's comments were accurate - they came out the blocks strong, caught Soton on the backfoot, but once Saints had settled they looked the better team for large parts of the game, regularly carving through City with alarming regularity but just lacking the finishing touch.

City were better even the second half, with play about even.

Not sure what the apparent reporters were watching that said City had a 'good game', given Saints' recent results v top sides this is one City should really have won but it was Southampton's day.
