Who will Mayweather fight next?

It's been a while since his last fight and I heard a few weeks back that his next opponent would have been announced by now.

I also saw a rumour of Floyd wanting to defend his 147 and 154 title in the same fight, which I don't like.

I thought maybe of a unification fight with another 147/154 champ but there is only Porter (who is fighting Brook), Molina, Andrade (both no where near well known to be considered) and Pac (enough said).

I did think Canelo/Lara winner would be good but it's too soon for Canelo considering how poor he done last year and if Lara looks good, Mayweather won't touch him and also not a name for the casual fan.

Garcia would be good at 147 but I'm sure Garcia's team won't do it until he has a tune up fight before.

Khan has ruled himself out with Ramadan commitments.

I even thought of Matthysse as a fun fight but can't see it.

So who do you think he'll fight. Personally I can't see past a Maidana rematch for a few reasons:

1- Would satisfy most casual and hardcore fans considering the first fight.
2- He's definitely available
3- Previous fight rumoured to have done circa 900k PPV's so a rematch should be much bigger and is what Showtime need.
4- Can't see anyone else capturing the attention of the fans

Who can you see him fighting?

Thurman.....hopefully.

That's a faint hope, that one. Maidan a rematch most probably, then move heaven and earth for a catch weight fight for Cotto's shiny new belt

Thurman is one of the biggest threats but no name so too big a risk.

Cotto isn't fighting till December so I would expect Cotto/Canelo winner in May 2015 if all unscathed until then.

How iron cast is the date for Mayweathers next fight? Khan is so desperate for a Mayweather fight that Im sure he would take the fight even giving himself limited preparation time. Mayweather could be tempted to take advantage of that.

Maidana or Garcia in September and Khan in May at Wembley.

Mayweather W12 Ward....Mayweather cherry picked a guy he knew had been inactive for a while and was rusty..

Mayweather W12 GGG......Always said GGG was hype...Mayweather cherrypicked a guy inexperienced at the top level...Just another overrated Alvarez type..

Mayweather W12 Wlad Klit............Waited till Wlad was middle-aged and unmotivated....


My advice it doesn't matter who you fight......So fight who you like and don't let the morons on here get you down !!!   

To be honest Truss, bar the Klitschko and Ward ones, the other excuses could be pretty spot on for Mayweather and probably have a bit of truth to them

(Although I don't think Alvarez is overrated and still is a cracking win for anyone)

Go back to a few months before that fight all you could read on here was Floyd wouldn't have the balls to take on the number 1 jr middle...

Hey presto, soon as it was over Alvarez was the biggest fraud since Bernie Madoff...

I imagine back in the day...Old hacks thought John L would have creamed the fraud known as Jack Johnson who was overrated and a cherrypicker !!.

I'm not Mayweathers biggest fan but can say that he is a damn fine boxer. His attitude stinks sometimes and he does cherry pick every once in a while, unfortunately that's the business these days (and we complain about the money in football   ) and I also think he likes goading the fans (stating he'll fight Manny, then he won't, the whole schtick with Kahn etc).

But Alvarez was a very good win and he gave the fans what they wanted at the point so a begruding clap for him.

I'd like to see Kahn in with him for the running around he was made to do (I don't really think he deserves it from a pure boxing perspective,) or maybe Bradley who seems to be just a small step below (again from a talent point of view, not money)
