If you keep telling us someone might believe you.
James Pickard: Come on Murray. He's back in it now. Nearly as much suspense as London 2012 final. This is Grand Slam tennis at its best.
Ben Krizan: Hands down the best match of tennis I have watched, completely different Murray from last season.
Dan Tipp: Fallen off edge of seat. Cancel rest of morning - kids' homework will have to wait.
They all see to disagree ZZ.
You and I both know this a great match, some non-tennis fedal fans have to come on here and complain. No one is forcing you to watch. Just change the dial and stop commenting, no one will miss you if you are so bored.
No it isn't a great match. Some people desperately want it to be. the rallies are up and down the middle wih most ending in errors. Its dull simple as. At least with rafa he brings different things to the court and tries different things. these two play every point the same
Indeed he does.
On court coaching, time violations
What a man.
Once for on supposed coahing in a career of 12 years. Yeah what a bad guy.
Once
Once LOL!!!!! Seriously ZZ you just shot all credibility there.
err what are u talking about. Most of the time itjust rumours from federre fans. Nothing proven
Are you the offspring of HE?
Perish the thought.

He is doing a very good job of throwing in errors (tired ones?) and looking at a bigger hole to come out of as each point is played.
Djokovic's to lose now.

Well I don't know about once, but there's not much actual evidence it's very common.socal1976 wrote:It Must Be Love wrote:Wait, what's going on; why are people on here having a go at Nadal now ?
Because ZZ claims that in 12 years Nadal has only received coaching once during a match. Hilarious.

Murray's lost his head. He has lacked killer instinct. He should have put Djokovic to the sword when he was 2-0 in the third. He has missed too many winnable shots.

Murray checking out I am afraid.
I can't fathom out why he'd be so knackered as he has had a days more rest and only had a couple of three hour plus matches but evidently he looks shot. Sad way to end the match really - unless there is another twist which I can't see.

I would agree. I kind of get the impression that Andy has an inferiority complex when playing the very top players. Pre-match he spoke about reaching as many finals as Rafa and Novak I think it was and saying it was an honour. That says a lot. He should be more talking himself up rather than talking his opponents up.

Sadly most matches like this turn into necrophilia! The guy with life in him rogers the life out of the other!
Not saying the match has been devoid of quality, just it has become a real counterpunch match after the first set

Wow if he gets bagel here that would be embarrassing. Got to question why he's fell so badly after grabbing the 2nd

Today that is the difference. Djokovic taking the chances and not letting advantages slip whereas Andy has.
Still pre-tournament it is far more than I expected for him to reach the final. Shame he couldn't bring his best to court but Novak deserves this.

If the Andy against Berdych showed up, might have been a better fight.
Those missed chances. Some even so simple, gone. Can't do it in a final. Just criminal.

This will be a legacy securing victory for Novak Djokovic. Winning the same Major 5 times he will join legends like Borg, Connors, Federer and Nadal in doing so.
This might just reignite Novak's push to finally secure that missing French Open crown. That said he'll have to play a lot better to beat Rafael Nadal Bo5 in Paris.

Good question. I just think he lost his mental calm (present in previous matches) and couple that with his first serve not firing and perhaps physically struggling would explain it. Disappointing definitely but after last year this is still a very encouraging start to the year for Andy as Novak serves for the title.

The question now becomes how many can Djokovic win? Nadal has to eventually not come back, Federer is probably done as a legit competitor, and Djokovic probably has the wood on Murray in slams as a rule. With no new challengers rising, he might get to 10-11.

Yep, its the familiar problem in slam finals of not producing when it matters. Had he maintained his level from the end of the 2nd/start of the 3rd then he would have won comfortably. Instead he let Novak's antics niggle at him and then fell away totally. Sad to see.
