How are people feeling about their squads so far? Bearing in mind I always seemed to make big and rash mistakes during the first week or so, I think I have done ok

I'm happy with mine, needed a striker which i got from the deal with Hero and gained some experience in DM even though i didn't want to sell Locatelli but i was happy to do it for Guardado

As usual I've been bringing in youth, as a result it's left me with a few gaps to plug especially going forward but I've got foreigns hopefully to fill those gaps.

With Frozen TM prices, the advantage will only be visible at the end of the season, the frozen TM prices should help with people being involved and getting tactics and votes in because of the money available for doing so, press conferences add £500k a week too so you could have £2m a week just from easy stuff. You can also release which i cant see too many people doing further down the line and accept 2 lawyers a week of course, people could get lucky with lawyers and end up getting a beastly squad quite soon but it will come down to management.

Saving money maybe. I dobt think the star players are overly good here so 20m plus a 25m lawyer offer could get proper game changers

For me it’s about building a squad not game changers so I was never going to blow a big chunk of my budget on one player.

And then a lot of the mid-price players are already in the league so it’s more about cherry picking to build the squad up.

If you're not in for one particular player I'll be very surprised.

What's peoples thoughts on having a youth team allowance?

My proposal is:

A youth team of up to 15 players.
They have to be born after 1st Jan 1997.
You are allowed to buy up to 2 youth players per week in addition to the normal purchases.
These players remain in the youth setup for a minimum of 3 months before they can graduate to the main team.
Once they've graduated they cannot then go back to the youth team.
They are not included in lawyers or injuries whilst in the youth team.

For me I think it'd be something that encourages managers to think long term and look to build for not just this season but want it to go into season 3,4 etc to see these younger players in RL show their potential, and it also hopefully makes managers steer away from the dreaded r word.

There's certainly one there that I would be disappointed if you didn't get.
But that's not the one I was thinking of.

I would like both the Everton ones
I have in mind, but need to pick which one for this week.

Not sure who you are talking about but haven’t spent much time on TM. Might well dawn on me when I take a look!

With Pirlo retiring I may just spend a couple of 100k bringing him in for nostalgia.

Like the idea of youth but it will impact on squad numbers won't it?

I like the youth team idea. Good way of building longevity.

And you could do it that their TM value is only frozen at the point they leave the youth team?

Would have to be outside the 25 man squad Twist

Yes it'd be outside of the 25 man squad and it would not affect the normal squad in any way until the player has passed his 3 months probation period and could then transfer across.

I think it's a good idea but timing is important. I have some good youths in my squad already. We can't just put them in a youth team now that they are in the main squad?

Think it could start half way through the season or next season

I think that's why it'd need to start sooner rather than later. I'd say the youths already in squads are ones that have graduated from your soon to be Fifa Class A youth team.

Ever since those rumours started, Nando needs to stay away from children.

When he plays Hero, he’s gonna have to watch on TV and manage remotely.
