Early Wrestlemania 28 plans......

After speaking with sources I have learned the early plans as of now for next years WrestleMania 28 card.

Obviously The Rock vs John Cena and the plan is to have the WWE title be on the line in that match.

The Undertaker vs Chris Jericho would also be on the card. A rematch between Triple H and The Undertaker is rumored to take place at this years SummerSlam.

Triple H would go to WrestleMania next year going up against The Miz.

Alberto Del Rio vs Randy Orton.

Sin Cara vs Rey Mysterio.

And the celebrity involvement that the WWE is hoping for is Big Show in a match against retired NBA star Shaq.

These plans are all subject to change between now the start of 2012 based on injuries and other factors. As of now, this is the card that the WWE is looking to have for WrestleMania 28 in Miami.

Obviously its very early days and things are bound to change, but what are your first thoughts on this card? I like the idea of a Triple H vs The Miz fued, although i fear Miz will end up getting buried. I'm not too sure what they intend the WHC to be? Orton vs Del Rio? Not sure how that'd work seeing at Del Rio is on Raw, unless they will have him win the Rumble again. Unless the WHC match is Taker v Jericho which in my opinion would be better. Have Jericho come back and win the strap.

Would mean both World Title matches would be huge, which is how it should be for Wrestlemania.

Thoughts on this?

I was very suprised to see Taker - Jericho on there. I suppose Jericho is one of the few people who could get a match out of Taker.

To be fair though. Looks like a Wrestlemania card to me

Glaring omissions of CM Punk and Christian. Nice to see they're in Vince's thoughts as ever.

I'm sure they will be added along the way. Don't forget though, Punk's contract runs out soon so is there any point planning something for him if they don't even know if he will be there?

I hate that this means that either Randall Orton or Alberto (twice in a row) will be winning the rumble.

Unless Y2J wins the rumble but goes on to say he's won enough titles, he wants something on his CV that no-one else has - The Streak.

How about HHH being the Champ and Miz winning the Rumble. HHH really putting the Miz over before he leaves

Or maybe Shaq wins the rumble?

Yeah, the HHH champ thing could work but that means him coming back on screen full time.

I would have loved a Vince-Taker feud before the Deadman retires but it looks more and more unlikely.

Looks like a very good card to me.

I hope HHH will put over Miz, i don't know why they would plan to put Miz up against HHH unless there is a good reason like HHH wanting to cement Miz as a main eventer for years to come?

The Undertaker Jericho thing is a different idea and i think it will be cool to see, this means Jericho would be heel i'm guessing?

I wouldn't want to see Taker in a title match and considering he would likely be gone again after Mania I don't see how they would book it, I wouldn't mind Jericho/Taker but Jericho would need to be booked majorly strong to be a believable contender to the streak, HHH/Miz would be great as would HHH/Punk, I'd love to see a "Randy Savage Memorial Match" between HBK and Punk

The only problem is Cena will obviously have the title for his match with Rock. It really doesn't need it but Vince thinks otherwise.

A quick way I'd do it is...

Punk is WWE Champion

Have a tournament on Raw for the No.1 contender with a match at The Rumble. Matches go along during the night. Usual people get through. Main Event comes. Wrestler comes out. Doesn't know who his opponent is. TIME TO PLAY THE GAAAAAAAAAAME!!!! hits the Arena, the crowd goes wild. HHH is back and wants one last run with the Title. He wins the match and wins the tournament beating Del Rio in the final. HHH vs Punk at the Rumble. Great match, HHH wins!!!!

Miz wins the Rumble and says he is going after Hunter. HHH says win or lose, this is the way he wants to go out. Main Event of Wrestlemania.

Mania comes, brilliant match with both stars pushing each other to the limit. HHH goes for the Pedigree, Miz spins out and hit SCF for the win.

Miz stands in the corner shell-shocked that he has won the title and ended HHH's career. Hunter gets up the quite angry that he didn't get his way. Walks towards the Miz... And raises his arm in victory. Crowd goes wild and this is the way a Miz face turn should be done. Miz shakes HHH's hand and lets Hunter take the crowds standing ovation for his last match ever.


But like I said, that won't happen because Cena will be Champ

Is there a possible way now for Taker to be heel going into the Mania season?
I just think that would actually freshen up the streak, to have the entire crowd backing the challenger to it, wanting to see it ended.

I thought there was rumour that Punk would face off against Austin at WM28 due to there Twitter banter

Could Rock take the belt at the PPV before the Rumble and be the heel champ facing Cena at Wrestlemania?

Christian will be world champ by Wrestlemania.....TNA world champ

I don't see it happening at all and I think it would make no sense.

He's got more chance of being the Anonymous Raw GM than of being TNA World Champ.

The point I was making is that he isnt going to be champ if these rumours are true - hes not even in the picture.

Yes he is getting a push, but we all know in our hearts that it wont last or go anywhere.

Christians contract is up in January 2012, I doubt he or the WWE would not want to renew though

In my opinion, he is at the best place he can be right now and it would be silly for him not to resign, and i imagine he feels he will resign as long as the contract is on the table so to speak.

Although he wasn't champ for long it was still satisfying and also he is still heavily main eventing and whilst i'm shocked that he turned heel i am excited to see where they go with this.

Jericho v Taker concerns me unless Jericho returns with a new character. Or if he continues with the 'best in the world' gimmick he could return saying that he watched the HHH/Taker match last year and watched as HHH tapped proving that the 'King of Kings' wasn't good enough and proving conclusively that Jericho alone is the best in the world at what he does. He then goes on to say to prove he is the best he will beat Taker thus becoming not only the first undisputed champion but also the only person to take Taker's streak.

Then in the build up to the match have Taker put on his strong man, undefeatable at Mania character but have Jericho outsmart him, causing Taker to become frustrated. Afterwards have Jericho take over Raw again saying that the entire WWE universe should revolve around him and be as arrogant as possible but still a credible threat to Taker's streak.

But Jericho would definitely need some venom in his promos and a viciousness in his demeanor to pull it off.

Jericho cant come back as the honest man again, it was pretty stale by the time he left and Miz has already well and truly hawked that gimmick by now

Personally i dont see Taker v Jericho happening, i think they'll scrap it.

I think Orton vs Taker is the best option the WWE have. Orton is more of a belieavable threat and i dont think the WWE can any longer book Taker against a heel at Mania as the outcome would be obvious. It has to be a strong face and apart from Cena, Orton is the one who fits the bill.

It will be interesting to see how Christian's career unfolds. Vince has always said he doesnt rate him as a main eventer, but if Christian pulls of this heel turn maybe Vince can be swayed. If he is, then i'd like to see a heel Christian vs a face Jericho for the title at Mania.

I highly doubt either Jericho or Christian would be in the title match at WM let alone against each other, it just doesn't feel big enough

But then Jericho vs Edge and Edge vs Del Rio didnt seem big enough for Mania.

Haha it's fine mate no worries. I've never been one for being able to come up with decent storylines. I did once concerning Edge and the Raw G.M back on 606 but that's about it.

Surely that means I'd be perfect for a job on the WWE writing team?

I'd love that card if it weren't for the fact that Punk isn't on it. I really hope he won't have left!

I would love it gaffer but I think it would just be another burial of Punk mate.

Also, Show v Shaq. How on earth is that going to be booked?

They had a confrontation when Shaq was guest host, they wanted to carry it on then but apparently his NBA club wouldn't allow it, but he's retired now. Although that happened a year or two back so not sure how they'd bring it back up again.

Nobody has mentioned the Sin Cara v Rey Mysterio match. This would be interesting. Would any of them turn heel for this? I think it has the potential to be a good match.

Looks like a very good card but i do think CM Punk should be on there someway in a big match

I'll be surprised if more than 2 of the matches make it

I dont think the Rock/Cena Match will be for the title. After that match I cannot see the Rock wrestling again and also I doubt he would of agreed to this match unless he is going to be the winner.
