With a 8 year old and a 3 year old i watch a lot of kids tv again . Phineas and Ferb is very popular in my house as is Peppa Pig and also Ben and Holly's little kingdom .

But they are not as good as Ivor the Engine , Bagpuss , Trumpton .......i could go on ( and i have bought them all on dvd for me !)

I Trap Door. I still watch it on DVD. I've got a tee shirt with Buerk on it as well

Pingu was the best thing ever. Don't forget Wallace and Gromit!

I'd happily watch Phineas and Ferb even when the kids have gone to bed, it's really well put together!

Adventuretime is decent,it's got the voice of Bender as a dog!

"Malcolm in the Middle" was brilliant but more of a teens/adult show.

But seen as my brother still watches kid's tv, I have to say I do enjoy Phineas and Ferb.Can't say I ever got the fuss surrounding Spongebob Squarepants, just don't think it's that funny.

I think they should bring back Knightmare.

Or would that make it lose it's kitsch value??

I agree on both points - they should bring it back but it would lose some of its charm.

I used to like Heartbreak High. Anyone remember that? It was an early '90s Aussie teen drama set in a rough Sydney school. They used to swear on it so I thought it was pretty cutting edge at the time

Yeah I watched Heartbreak High.

I liked that guy Bolton, the sidekick of Peter Rivers.

Ah remember it well.

They did quite a few series, only really watched the first 2.

The Red Hang Gang was another i watched.
Rent A Ghost(think thats what it was called).

Any Irish viewers on here remember Finbar's Class, possibly the worst programme ever, only watched it, cos my cousin was in it.

I remember Rentaghost. Very strange programme really...I never really got what it was about...but then I don't think kids were meant to understand their own TV shows in those days.

I wasn't allowed to watch Rentaghost because my mum assumed from the name of the show that it must be sinister (she's quite religious). The same went for Thundercats because she thought Mum-Ra was 'satanic' and we couldn't watch Home and Away for a while because Bobby 'had a bad attitude.' She wouldn't let my youngest sister watch The Demon Headmaster, either.

rentaghost was fantastic. Whilst at uni, people said I looked like Timothy Claypole when I grew a goatie!

It was a light hearted comedy for kids - great stuff.

Lucky - it's funny how kids TV shows can appear to be sinister to adults. Anyone remember the Minipops? Wouldn't get that on telly now...

One of the Japanese cartoons I mentioned (Tenchi Muyo) wouldn't get on TV now. They actually had naked women in that. I used to watch it after school when I was 11, suprised that Cartoon Network were allowed to show that in the first place.

Gaelic - a manga cartoon called Battle of the Planets used to be on when I was a kid, but it was heavily edited for UK audiences.

I'm suprised that wasn't edited out. Mind you I've seen the Japanese version since it was even more graphic.

Battle of the planets was great

Not really my favourite but i watched an old episode of Gentle Ben yesterday
