Vince did something he doesnt like doing when he decided to pay royalties to an existing song/band for CoP...

And as a results Living Colour has gotten to around 75 in the iTunes chart! They must be well chuffed - considering for them that song is probably an after thought as it was originally released back in the early 90s & the band have subsequently (as far as I'm aware) split up!

I think its fair to say that WWE have raised the profile for a number of bands - Alterbridge being one, I know they were relatively well-known before but WWE made there song (albeit only one) universally listened to.

Any other bands you can think of that WWE have helped along the way?

Saliva, they did loads of stuff for WWE, most notably Batistas music.

Also Mercy Drive - they sang Orton's original theme song, I hadn't heard of them before then and haven't heard of them since... By the looks of it WWE gave them their greatest success.

You could argue Motorhead. Fair enough they were pretty huge already but WWE brought them to a new audience.

I wonder if Vince is paying a royalty for CoP or did a deal which would see them make money anyway from downloads ect...

I remember their performance at WM for HHH's entrance - Lemmy was so bollocked he didnt know the words for his own song!

Limp Bizkit- again they were pretty big anyway but WWE proclaiming them as their 'favourite band in the world' must have helped!

WWE hasn't helped Fozzy that much IMO, they just made people dislike them when they were used in a storyline. They have worked hard themselves, granted people were aware of them because of Chris Jericho but similarly a lot of people became interested in them through Stuck Mojo and Rich Ward.

I got into Motorhead due to Trips' music then I found out how amazing they are. It opened up the metal world to me so I will always be thankful to Trips being a Motorhead fan.

Btw totally love Punk's music, it always reminds me of playing GTA, I believe it was San Andreas.

I was thinking more about when they let Jericho take a break to tour with them! I remember the battle of the bands Raw, that was a thorough, professional burial that even the (or an) undertaker would have been proud of!

Well, they are both excellent!

RE: Fozzy - Yeah, it was nice of them to let CJ have time off. I wasn't thinking that way Smile
