Zimbabwe have not played a test since 2005 but now they will against Bangladesh in Harare. There is no rankings at stake here, just pride. And it will be good to have Zimbabwe back to the Test Arena.

should be some funn, I expect Bangladesh to edge it, Zim has to do a lot of covering for the lost years.
I wish the elder Irvvine would also have been playing. was a decent all-rounder at the international level, and years of county cricket would have added something more to his game. He's not good enough to play for England, would have been nice to see him in action in international level again

Good showing by Zimbabwe on their test return so far. They have won the first 2 sessions. Masakadza looks well set, and the openers gave them a solid foundation. They both got out to nothing balls though.
If Bangladesh is to turn things around soon, again its up to their captain Shakib.

Shahriar Nafees and Mohammed Ashraful are building up a decent partnership. Ashraful has batted with some sense so far, and has got to the 30s. will his brain keep the good work up?

Nafees gone now, Bangladesh at least have got their batting order right, Mahmudullah was mostly wasted lower down the order.
Shakib and Rahim should also chip in big if they have to make a game out of this one.

Zimbabwe continues to impress, they clearly won the first day, and with Nafees's wicket at the end, they just edged today, as Bangladesh are still some 260 odd behind.

Zimbabwe hs performed well against the opposition playing against them. We don't know how they'll do against the higher ranked sides, but good signs, and as a cricket lover, that's enough for me to start with.

Mohammed Ashraful looked like he was about to turn a corner in his full of promis, stop start, career. He played a patient hand untill he played a typically stupid shot, suggesting the upgrade to Ashraful V2 is not complete.
Zim well on top.

Zimbabwe managed a first innings advantage of 83, but have lost 4 2nd innings wicket for just 92. They would particularly disappointed as the openers ones again got a good start, but didn't convert it into something major. Mawoyo got 35, Sibanda 38. Masakatza couldn't repeat his first heroics, and the night watchman couldn't survive the day.
Taylor and Taibu are out there, and if Zimbabwe gets another 100 runs or so, it will be very dificult for Bangladesh.

Bangladesh looked like they'll put up a serious fight when Tamim was playing his brant of cricket, but ones he got out, it has been Zimbabwe's time. Bangladesh 3 down for a hundred odd.

Too early to say, but yeah, good signs from Zimbabwe.
Their bowling looks sharper than that of Bangladesh. Jarvis and Vitori seem good attacking bowlers, and Mpofu and Elton Chigumbura are decent support acts, although not quite standard test quality as yet.
Ray Price has proved in the past that he can trouble the best of them.
Its the batting that isgoing to trouble them more I think. Masakadza, Taylor and Taibu are all quite handy, but they do miss an Andi Flower like pillar.
If Sean Ervine returns eventually, Zimbabwe cricket would be benefited.
If the ZC could get someone like Murrey Goodvin back for a season or 2, the youngsters will aave someone to lead them and guide them.

What a game this has turnt out to be!!! Taylor has been fantastic!!! This boy Jarvis has bowled brilliantly and in another match could've easily had 8-10 wickets!!! I hope Zim get over the line, as they have bossed the entire game and deserve to win.
