Seems certain that Wilson and Viscount will miss out. Possibly also Meaker if Adams continues with the policy of playing 5 batting spinners (or quasi spinners in some cases?) which has proved very successful.

The absence of Ramps from the line up continues to provide supporting evidence for the theory that Ramps was added to the squad for one match in order to be dropped after the incident at Cheltenham.

Been trying to catch up about Ramps' suspension which happened whilst I was away. Still a bit puzzled.

As I understand things, we (Surrey) added Ramps to a CB40 squad for a game in which he was never going to play so as to effectively dodge a one game ban. Although not particularly honourable, I can understand the logic of that.

However, wasn't the ban imposed by us (Surrey) as a result of an internal review rather than by the ECB. If so, it seems that we have been pretty blatant in trying to hoodwink the ECB that we would impose an appropriate ban (so they didn't need to impose a ban) or that Adams, in selecting Ramps for the CB40 squad, was at odds with the Surrey disciplinary panel.

Am I missing something?

Guildford - the ban was imposed by Surrey. I think it was a bit cynical to select Ramps apparently simply in order to drop him. I don't think there is any suggestion of a disagreement among Surrey officials/discipline panel.

But I suppose the "ban" is still some sort of tap on the wrists in that it has been made public that he has been disciplined. I suppose the sanction of a one match ban is always liable to be a bit awkward where you have players who aren't necessarily in the team for all matches.

Literally can't believe how good we have been in the CB40 this season! We have shown big improvement all round as a team this season and despite the Kent CC debacle last week I am very happy. We will be very confident going into what will be a home semi final so we have every chance to make it to a final which would be AMAZING!
